Update: “Manhunt 2” Receives “Adult’s Only” rating in US

So last week, we reported that Take-Two’s Manhunt 2 was banned from being sold in England, whose film classification board refused to give it a rating, due to its extreme violence. Well, the controversy has reached US shores. The ESRB has given the game an “Adult’s Only” rating, effectively killing a release, as Sony and Nintendo—who are slated to release the game—will not do so with such a rating. Take-Two must now make some changes in the game to receive the more acceptable “Mature” rating by the ESRB…just in time for the holiday season. In the meantime, Take-Two will undoubtedly enjoy lots of free publicity (and probably high anticipation), something the company has already proven to be quite skilled at.
