Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: GPS, Handhelds, Misc. Tech, Wireless / WiFi
The next time you attempt Mt. Everest, Garmin hopes you will take along its eTrex Summit that not only features a WAAS (Wide Area Agumentation System) with an accuracy of up to 3 meters, it also has a barometric altimeter and an electronic compass. The 12 parallel channel GPS fits in your palm with buttons on either side in case you are scaling a wall when you need it most. The Summit is waterproof and can withstand water of up to 1 meter for about 30 minutes. Contact Garmin for price and availability.
