Dell Reinstates Windows XP
Dell has decided to actually listen to its customers and asked them to come up with suggestions for making their products better. Not surprisingly, one of these ideas was to reinstate Windows XP into their PCs. That request, as part of their “Idea in Action” page, earned 10,000 votes. Above that level were those who suggested adding Linux or Open Office.
Microsoft has already decided that they will stop selling XP by next January. Other PC companies, such as HP and Leveno, still stock some units with XP systems. Wouldn’t it be nice if Dell had actually taken the Linux lead and come up with something really original?
