Although we are not particularly pink fans, we believe that this one is worth its color. Canon and appointed spokesperson Maria Shaparova unveiled the company’s “Pink” campaign to draw awareness to breast cancer. The bundle includes a PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital ELPH cam, a SELPHY CP760 Compact Photo Printer, a ribbon charm and a mammogram reminder magnet, provided by the American Cancer Society. The entire package is only $279.99.

Nokia XpressMusic 5800

Nokia’s latest XpressMusic, the 5800, is coming out for the holidays. At a size of 4.37 x 2.04 x 0.61-inches and a weight of 3.84 oz., the S60 5th Edition touchscreen phone has a 3.2-inch 640 x 360p screen with stylus input, an aspect ratio of 16:9, a 3D image engine and dedicated Media Bar touch key. To text, there is an option with writing, mini QWERTY keyboard, full screen QWERTY and alpha-numeric keypad. The smartphone includes GPS, a 3.2MP auto-focus Zeiss lens with LED flash, HSDPA, WiFi, 81MB internal memory and 8GB with included microSD card. Look for a price of $495.00.

We admit that some of us were not big Leo DiCaprio fans, but now that he has created this Voting PSA for declareyourself.com, we have to give him points. Featuring such celebs as Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston, Tobey Maguire, Dustin Hoffman and Ashton Kuchter, the online video is aimed at younger voters in an effort to get them to register, with the deadline being this week in some states. Supposedly shot in his backyard in one day, it has already had over 40,000 views. Our kudos to the politically correct actor.

Vudu HDX 1080p movie downloads are “insanely sharp”

Yesterday, VUDU went live with their new HDX 1080p movie downloads, and word on the street (or, at least, from Pogue at the Times) is that they are the best thing available as it pertains to the digital download movie game. Now, VUDU promised “Blu-ray quality” movies, and I don’t think that’s what we are seeing here. After all, that would mean some people would have to spend the better part of a day downloading a flick - that would make for an awkward evening when inviting the girl over. However, the quality is decidedly sharper than DVD, and looks better than high definition downloads from other services, like iTunes through Apple TV. So, how do they achieve this goodness? Well, the bit rate for the videos hovers around 9Mbps, and goes as high as 20Mbps during fast-moving action scenes. Nothing else touches that, including your cable company with their On Demand, seriously.
VUDU currently has 65 movies available to rent in their HDX format, and all new releases will be available in HDX as well. A VUDU box will run you $299, but if you buy it before the end of the year, you get a $200 movie credit, which seems to make it worth the price of admission - especially since those who own HDTVs have such a hard time finding great content to take advantage of their screens on a consistent basis. You can get one online, or at your local Best Buy.

With things like next-generation game consoles, Blu-ray players, and the like, we are curious if you have a surround sound system that you use to get the most from your setup. Basically, we wanna know if you do, is it 5.1 or 7.1? Or do you keep it real with regular old stereo sound? Netflix Watch Instantly steaming coming to Macs by end of year

One of the main reasons we switch from Blockbuster Online to Netflix here at our home is the Netflix Watch Instantly functionality that is set to come to the Xbox 360 with the New Xbox Experience Fall dashboard update. However, if you don’t have a 360, or you just want more variety in your Watch Instantly lifestyle, you’ll be pleased to know that the functionality is finally gonna hit OS X by the end of this year, after being available only on Windows for almost two years. By our estimation, that means sometime in the next three months, and that excites us. Apparently, the holdup was based the fact that the DRM used on Windows boxes wasn’t compatible with OS X, and since Apple doesn’t license out their FairPlay DRM to third-parties, Netflix had to roll their own. HP has finally gotten around to getting their monstrous 18-inch HDX powerhouse ready for shipping. You can head over to their online store now to start configuring these bad boys. As a refresher, this is an 18-inch entertainment beast, with a full HD display and amazing HP Imprint finish. Prices start at $1,549.99 (which, actually, isn’t that bad for an 18-inch notebook with this much power), but if you pimp this thing out, it’ll easily go over two grand. Man Uses Remote Access to Catch Thief

White Plains, NY resident Jose Caceres’ laptop was stolen last month when he left it on top of his car while carrying other things into his house. He then used a remote access program to watch it being used and told the police of its location, leading to the arrest of the suspect. Caceres says it took some time because the man utilized it frequently for porn. He eventually managed to catch a name and address when he registered on a site. Back in May, a woman from White Plains activated her stolen computer’s webcam with remote access to take pictures of the man who was using it.
