Russian engineer builds radio-controlled hovering DeLorean car

Ever since I was a child, I always wanted a hover car. More so, I wanted a car what was iconic. Now, granted, any hover car would be iconic, but I wanted something that would be undeniably cool regardless of what era the car was seen in. Well, with a few bucks, some creativity, and a little time on your hands, the dream is now possible.

Back over in the Motherland, a Russian engineer has built a radio-controlled hover car based on the DeLorean from Back to the Future. His mantra for the project is “Where we’re going, who needs roads?” which we find appropriate for the build. Though this isn’t a full size replica, it’s still one hell of a bragging right. Imagine a piece of paper that could play sounds, solar powered popscicles, or the New York Times being optimistic. What do these things have in common? Nothing really, apart from the general constraints of our perception of our reality. We all know that paper isn’t audible and is instead flat and used for printing and writing. However, are the rules that we follow also holding us back from our own creativity? Right now I'm at SXSW, sitting in on the Turntable.fm DJ Battle that's taking place over the next two hours. There are a few DJs on stage playing their best tracks in an attempt to rock the crowd, and as things are unfolding, I can see some real potential for Turntable.fm to bring something to the table that the Spotifys, Rdios, and Rhapsodys of the world just aren't able to deliver at the moment, especially now that Turntable has secured licensing rights from all four of the major record labels here in the U.S.

Samsung Galaxy S II Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update available

Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is finally available for Samsung Galaxy S II owners. However, to upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich, you must upgrade KIES to the latest version. Some of the upgrade improvements are the obvious platform changes and better multitasking between apps.

As with all changes, some cautionary procedures are required. We recommend that you back up your device first, as there is a possibility of losing some content. Also, some apps may not be fully compatible with ICS, so just know that going in. Lastly, before proceeding with the update, make sure you have enough free space on your device. Good luck, we know that plenty of you Galaxy S II users have been waiting for this one.

So long green cabs of Mexico City

For those that have been to Mexico City, you’re familiar with the green Volkswagen Bug taxis employed by the city. They green VWs have become an icon to Mexico City, just as coffee has become an icon to Seattle. However, the green Bugs are on their last leg, as this year they will become extinct.

Due to government regulations and safety bylaws, all cabbies are required to have four-door vehicles. While we couldn’t see the convenience of having a two-door taxi inthe first place, a former cabbie told the AP that they were cheap to operate. However, safety is an issue, and cramming people into what essentially is a 74-year-old car does cause more than a few safety concerns. So if you want to experience the green cabs for one last time, book your flights to Mexico City now before it’s too late!

Verizon set to offer free hotspot abilities with iPad 4G LTE

For those that are itching to get their hands on a new iPad,  users looking to tether might be interested to know that Verizon will be offering free hotspot access with its data plans. That means you’ll be able to use your tablet at 4G LTE speeds. That may come in handy when traveling or when the internet is down. But regardless the new feature gives new iPad shoppers more options.

Now as we’ve all come to know, phone carriers try to nickel and dime their customers. For lack of a better cliché, there’s no such thing as a free lunch, when it comes to adding features to your phone plans. That said, Verizon will be including 1 GB of data available as hotspot on all their 4G LTE data plans, that also includes their 1 GB data plan which starts at 20 bucks a month. Furthermore, Verizon is not requiring you to get locked in to an annual data plan, giving you the option to pay for data per monthly usage, as has been typical with iPad data.

Nokia Lumia 900 release pushed back to April

March 18th was the set date for the Nokia Lumia 900, but due to technical difficulties, red tape, and all that jazz, the release date has been bumped back a bit to April 22nd, reports BGR. However, though the longer wait time may be disappointing to some, the price is definitely not. As stated earlier this year, the Lumia 900 will sell for $99 with a two-year contract. The only question that’s left to be answered in my mind, is will this phone be indestructible as the old Nokia brick phones? Time will tell when April rolls around and we’ll make sure to keep you posted, but for now just know that the best Windows Phone yet will be available in just over a month.

Bleeding Edge TV 441: HexBugs robot toy review

We give you a look at three different types of HexBugs in this episode. HexBugs are robotic creatures, similar to insects, that crawl around. Batteries are included, so you just open them up and turn them on, and as you can see, they will start crawling around right away. The HexBug Inchworm is radio-controlled, while the HexBug Original and HexBug Nano are simply battery powered and kind of do their own thing once you turn them on. Aside from the insect robots themselves, you can also purchase different environments for the HexBugs to move around in, which looks especially cool when dealing with the Nano version. How to fix: Apps Installed on the iPhone could not be Determined

I've been putting up with an annoying iTunes error when trying to sync my iPhone 4S. The sync always fails, telling me that it's because "Apps installed on the iPhone could not be determined" - We figured there were others out there receiving the same message, so we wanted to share how we fixed it. The problem would always start with iTunes attempting to transfer apps from the iPhone that it says weren't in the iTunes library - however, this is incorrect, as each time it wanted to transfer over all 153 apps from the iPhone. After the transfer started, the error would appear. Here are some things you can try if you're experiencing the same problem:

First, make sure you're running the latest version of iOS and iTunes. Restart your iPhone (or other iOS device) by holding down the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time until the Apple logo appears. While it's rebooting, quit and restart iTunes. For some, this will usually fix the problem, but for us it didn't.

The next step is to reboot your computer. When it's back up, launch iTunes and update all apps in iTunes and do the same on your iPhone. Once this is done and both devices have the latest version of the apps that you own, connect your iPhone (and be sure you're using a first-party Apple sync cable) and attempt to sync. This will fix the issue if your iPhone and iTunes each have different versions of an app that might be corrupt. However, in our case, things were still failing. In this case, I had to watch the iTunes status during the sync and noticed that the error came up when it attempted to sync the Price is Right app. I manually deleted it from my phone, synced again, and it worked just fine.

I may not shoot often, but when I do I make sure I shoot like a boss. Now, grante,d access to the most expensive equipment may not always be something that you can count on, but regardless of what camera you've got, lighting is key in any shot. Apart from solid lighting, thinking outside the box may also be necessary, as Blair Blunting uses Forza 4 to get inspiration for shooting the Lamborghini Aventador. Don’t believe us?
