Burnout Revenge GRAWFinally, some quality non-sports Xbox 360 titles are starting to trickle in. It has been confirmed that both Burnout Revenge and GRAW have gone gold, and will be on their way to retailers. You can get your hands on them next week, as Ghost Recon launches on March 9 (with original Xbox and PS2 versions shipping March 30) and Burnout Revenge dropping on March 7. The rest of the month will be rounded out by Far Cry Instincts Predator, The Outfit, Blazing Angels, and the much-anticipated Oblivion.

Pink Motorola SLVRAwww, yeah! Yet another pink Motorola handset in the house! Seriously though, Motorola has made us all aware that they plan to continue releasing pink versions of their phones to cater to “girls who like to be out and about.” Now, whether that constitutes the necessity for a pink phone over tha standard black is another discussion altogether. For now, just know that it is similar to the standard SLVR: Bluetooth, iTunes, and 10.2 mm thin.

TiVo KidZoneIt seems people are wondering what is up with TiVo booking the Museum of Television and Radio for a big announcement tomorrow. Luckily, we have some peeps on the inside who have given us the good stuff. It doesn’t look like the Series 3 will be given a date, or that the Netflix downloads will be starting anytime soon. Instead, TiVo is going to announce their new KidZone service that aims to give parents guidance and control over what their kids watch on TV. Now, this isn’t your standard, run-of-the-mill parental control feature. KidZone actually creates virtual TiVo menus and virtual channels, specifically targeted to the children. TiVo partnered with leading parenting and family groups including Common Sense Media and The Parents TV Council to select kid-friendly content for the new service.

Parents have the ability to select from an entire menu of weekly recommendations and automatically record all of those shows.  When TiVo is in KidZone mode, it locks out all other programming access by children.  Parents get password-protected ability to decide what’s best for their children to watch and kids get their own space on TiVo to enjoy their favorite shows. The service will be launched in June 2006.

Anyone running a Mac out there, be sure to run Software Update. You will receive updates to iTunes, iPhoto, and Front Row, along with a security update. What’s stands out about these updates is the fact that the new Bonjour technology that Steve Jobs talked about yesterday is here. Now your Front Row Macs will be able to communicate to each other without the hassle. The iPhoto and iTunes updates also look to be a direct correlation to making sure they work right in Front Row sharing mode. As for the security update, here are the details:

Security Update 2006-001 is recommended for all users and improves the security of the following components:

Bom

Towel WarmerWalk by your typical window during the middle of winter (assuming you don’t live in the tropics) and you can feel the cold pouring off of it.  Even multi-paned, gas filled, low-E windows are still poor thermal barriers and let in as much cold as they let heat out.  To increase comfort and efficiency, Engineered Glass Products (EGP) has come out with Hot Glass.  Hot Glass is a double-pane window with a transparent film that allows the inside pane to radiate heat.  You can set the window to provide just enough warmth to offset any heat-loss, and put the inside of the glass at room temperature.  Alternatively the controls can be configured (similar to a standard thermostat) to allow the windows to give off increased heat, helping to warm the room they’re in.

Oh, and that picture of the towel warmer?  Well, it happens to be just one of the additional uses of their heated glass technology, and a good looking one at that.

Xbox 360Remember that TextPayMe service we wrote about a few days ago? We filled you in on the fact that they are giving away free Xbox 360s if you have enough people sign up for the service. We took a shot to see how far we would get, and it looks like we are 11 people away from earning an Xbox 360. What are we going to do with it if we win one? We will be giving it away here on Gear Live, of course! Here is how it will go down:

If you sign up for the TextPayMe service using this link, you are entered to win the Xbox 360. What’s more, there is no limit to the number of 360 units we can walk away with - so if we earn two, then both will be given away. If we get three, same deal. Only those who sign up for the service using this link will be entered to win. We will call up the winners live on The Bleeding Edge to tell them that they won.

So if you want a shot at winning the Xbox 360, sign up for TextPayMe. It’s free, and it’s a great service.

There’s something peaceful and serene about Apple’s current iPod packaging.  Their design works on the basis that less is more, and indeed it is.  Now visualize in your mind just about any product from Microsoft, and the packaging it came in.  Certainly a jarring contrast in styles isn’t it?  The Microsoft packaging is a visual flurry of activity, bordering on a graphical trainwreck.  This movie, certainly a parody, and rumored to be an internal Microsoft marketing movie (presumably to shake things up, if that’s possible), is quite humorous and sadly, very true.

Wicked Lasers

Not sure if you noticed, but the guys over at Wicked Lasers are on a mega advertising spree across the Interweb right now. Almost everywhere I look - including our own AdSense ads - I am seeing Wicked Lasers. Recently, we hooked up with them and got our hands on a couple of their lasers. We wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Turns out, these things are, um, wicked cool. We shot some video of us playing with the lasers, which will be featured in an upcoming episode of The Bleeding Edge. For now, know that we were able to successfully burn letters into plastic bags by using the lasers to melt the plastic, and that is just the beginning of some of the fun we had with these things.

The two lasers we have in our possession are the 100mW red colored Pulsar, along with the 125mW green Fusion. Believe it or not, the green laser can go 50 miles. We have a bunch more images of these two products, which you can check out after the jump.
