No Cher Number for James Franco at Oscars, Actor Upset

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Performances, Videos, Covers,

James Franco is upset “for me and Cher” following the decision to cut his version of the singer’s “You Haven’t See the Last of Me” from this year’s Oscars. He released a short clip of himself singing via Twitter, and in it he himself calls his singing “a little growly.” You can hear him in the video above.

But don’t let that fool you. His co-host Anne Hathaway says the Oscar nominee “has a lovely singing voice,” though she won’t say whether or not they’ll be singing together during the show.

The 83rd Academy Awards will air later this month on ABC -- and if there are any musical numbers, we’ll let you know about it! Follow Albumista on Twitter to get all the latest gossip, videos and rumors.

Diddy says singing on Last Train to Paris was difficult

admitted singing on his new album was “nerve wracking”. The hitmaker - best known as a rapper and businessman - said his move to showcasing his vocal prowess on new album ‘Last Train To Paris’, released by his new group Dirty Money, was particularly daunting. He told NME: “There’s definitely nerves. It’s nerve wracking because there’s more singing for me, and being on tour with bandmates. You have a new concept, and it took people a while to buy into it. But as we’ve started performing they’ve started buying into the concept. And now people have expectations.”

Diddy - who is joined in the group by singers Kaleena Harper and Dawn Richard - added returning to the music industry after a four year break, some people have forgotten how strong a back catalogue he has. He said: “I think a lot of times people forget how many hits I’ve had. I take pride in having hit records that still play in clubs now. I take people on a musical journey, and when we bring that up to date, it just gets more intense.”

Ke$ha’s Horrible SNL Performance

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Performances, Videos, Pop,

Unless you were saved by the Tivo gods, you probably got stuck watching ’s utterly horrendous SNL performance this past Saturday night. Her off-key warbling went on for an interminable four minutes, and the song itself is pretty horrible on its own merit (tell me, what does it mean, exactly, to “wake up feelin’ like P. Diddy,” and how do you know?).

Nonsensical lyrics, absolutely confusing costuming and out-of-sync choreography would have easily sunk Ke$ha’s ship even if she hadn’t opened her mouth to sing…which, unfortunately, she did. To her credit, I’m pretty sure she didn’t lip-sync the performance (something a few notable musical guests have been ripped apart for doing), but in Ke$ha’s case that might have been the better route to take.
