Mumford and Sons Nervous About Headlining Arenas

Mumford and Sons

Mumford and Sons are nervous about headlining arenas. The band have just released their second album Babel and announced a huge run of shows - including their first ever arenas in the UK - and are worried about making their sound big enough to fill such huge spaces.

"We've only ever done five [arenas] I think. We did three in Canada, one in Portland, Oregon and one in Amsterdam and it was quite difficult. Big respect to bands who do arenas because, it's a big space to fill," band member Winston Marshall said. "It's hard to connect but it's also kind of epic and a part of us always wanted to achieve those things," band member Ben Lovett added.

KISS Taught Deadmau5 How to Perform

Deadmau5Deadmau5 learned his showmanship from KISS. The producer wears a mouse-shaped helmet when performing and is known for putting on one of the most spectacular visual shows in dance music - making him one of the most highly paid DJs in the world - and he claims the idea came from the 70s glam rock band.

"The big turnaround for me was going to a Kiss concert. They're terrible. They suck so bad. I hope they don't read this. But their show is a f***ing show. They put a lot into making it entertaining. At one point, the guitarist pulls out a fricking bazooka and blows off a bit off the stage. How things have changed. I remember when [Nine Inch Nails frontman] Trent Reznor used to bring out a crappy old keyboard and smash it up, and everyone would say: 'Oh wow, that was so cool, we were at the concert where Trent snapped and smashed up his keyboard!' Bull***t. He used to do that every night. I loved the theatrics. It's about spectacle. That's what I realized."

Pink Thinks She Sings Better Upside Down

Pink singing upside downPink thinks she sings better upside down. The vocalist has recently been performing without a bungee rope for the first time in four years a device that was used on 2009's Funhouse tour, which featured a host of acrobatics.

The 33-year-old played London's iTunes Festival this week. "This is my first gig in a long while and I didn't know how it would go. I do think I sound better upside down. I'm finding it hard remembering the words singing standing up," she told The Daily Star.

In between the active gigs a few years ago and her new album The Truth About Love, Pink gave birth to daughter Willow. "I miss the bungee. I loved all the acrobatics so we are trying to figure out what to do for the next tour, something rad. It's amazing to be back. I've been pining for a stage. But having a baby changes the logistics of touring. I don't hang out with my bandmates at the bar anymore," the star said.

However she insists motherhood will not alter her personality: "I haven't lost my edge. Having a baby doesn't change your attitude. The new album is about love but aren't they all? I wrote it seven months after she was born."

Lana Del Rey Uncomfortable on Stage

Lana Del ReyLana Del Rey feels uncomfortable on stage.

The "Video Games" hitmaker admits she sometimes has to kneel during her performances in order to hide her visible discomfort but is grateful her fans do their best to put her at ease.

"I love to take care of the songs - that's my natural place - then, when I get on stage that's not my element. Sometimes I kneel down because I am trembling or touch the audience because I don't know what else to do. But the nice thing about the kids is that they feel bad for me, and pass me soft toys!"

Lana - whose real name is Lizzie Grant - also spoke of her desire to write for films and says she would be in a "happy place" if that was the direction her career took. "When I was starting, I had a vision of being a writer for film and that's what I am doing now. I'm so happy. Hopefully I will branch into film work and stay there. That will be my happy place. I'd like to stay in one place for a long time," she said.
