Whitney Houston’s Final Recording is Released

Whitney Houston's final recording will be released on June 5.

The late pop legend's last ever song, "Celebrate," is a duet with American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, and included in the movie Sparkle - the last thing Whitney worked on before her death in February. The track was produced by "I Believe I Can Fly" hitmaker R. Kelly and premiered on the radio yesterday.

The song features lyrics such as, "I'm going to celebrate, celebrate you," and Jordin chimes in, "We love you Whitney" at the end of the song. Whitney plays the "No Air" hitmaker's mother in Sparkle, a remake of a 1976 film about the pressures of fame in the Motown era. The film is Whitney's first foray into acting since roles in The Bodyguard and The Preacher's Wife over fifteen years ago. Sparkle will be in theaters starting August 17.

Jordin, 22, sung a moving rendition of Whitney's biggest hit "I Will Always Love You" in tribute to her at the Billboard Icon Awards awards on Sunday.

What a way to spend an anniversary.

Earlier this week, former American Idol champ Jordin Sparks spent time tweeting from, of all places, her hospital bed.

“Was struck w/ acute appendicitis…took out that appendix last night. Recovering today & the next week or so,” the 19-year-old wrote yesterday on her Twitter account.

Jordin Sparks Joins Britney Spears Tour

Jordin Sparks' Battlefield American Idol champ Jordin Sparks is preparing to enter a whole new circus. It’s just been announced that the “Battlefield” singer will open for Britney Spears on a list of North American dates.

According to pop star’s website, Sparks will begin her stint in “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” on August 24 in New York. The 19-year-old will share the same stage with opening acts Kristinia DeBarge, Girlicious and One Call on various nights.

“Britney’s show is incredible and for me to be a part of it is a great opportunity,” Jordin said in a statement.

Leona Lewis finishing up album, planning two-year tour

Leona Lewis tour Leona Lewis is planning a two-year tour. The singer wants to hit the road for her first ever solo tour as soon as she finishes recording her second album in Los Angeles. She said: “I’ll be touring in 2010 and through to the year after. I just can’t wait.” Leona - who shot to fame after winning UK TV talent show The X Factor - is really excited about her upcoming LP, the follow-up to her hit 2007 debut Spirit. The album is rumoured to be packed with several star guests, including Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo and super-producer Timbaland, and Leona insists fans will be surprised by her new sound.

The 24-year-old star told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “I’ve recorded about 20 songs so far. I’d say it was about halfway there. I’ve been flying back and forth to Los Angeles to record it. The music has a different feel this time. It’s more of a live, heavier sound with a lot of real instruments. It’s something I’ll be able to perform live.”

Jordin Sparks - a former winner of talent show ‘American Idol’ - recently revealed she is keen to collaborate with Leona. She previously said: “I want to work with Leona Lewis. I love her, she’s so sweet! I’d love to do a nice powerful female duet with her. I think our voices would blend together really well.”
