CMAs Hit Repeat: Underwood, Paisley to Host Again

MTV may have decided against using Russell Brand as a three-time host, but the Country Music Association has no problem with three-peats.
On November 10, country music lovers will see llinCarrie Underwood and Brad Paisley center stage at the CMAs once again. The two have been a hosting team at the annual event for the past two years.
“Carrie and Brad have done a tremendous job hosting, and we are very happy to have them back again this year,” Steve Moore, CMA’s Chief Executive Officer, explained about the decision. “They have developed a natural rhythm and have a great rapport with the audience - both in the house and with our fans watching at home. They each have a great sense of humor and timing, which are two essential ingredients for hosting a live awards broadcast.”

Taylor Swift is Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Artist News, Awards, Country,
“I’ll never forget this moment because in this moment everything that I have ever wanted has just happened to me.”
Should Taylor Swift start packing her bags and call it a career? One week after wowing critics with her humor on Saturday Night Live, the 19-year-old reached a professional high when she perfected a clean sweep at last night’s CMA Awards.
After collecting wins for Female Vocalist of the Year, Music Video of the Year (“Love Story”) and Album of the Year, she ended the evening with the event’s biggest award: Entertainer of the Year. Swift is now the youngest person to ever win that prize and the first solo woman since Shania Twain in 1999 to do so.
You can see a full list of winners after the jump.

Underwood, Paisley Return as CMA Hosts
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Artist News, Awards, Country,
If it feels like 2009 is a rehash of 2008, there might be reason. First, Russell Brand is asked to host the VMAs for the second time. Now, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are being given return gigs.
Last year’s Male and Female Vocalists of the Year will once again front the CMAs during the broadcast this fall. Combined, the two country stars have already racked up a total of 16 award from “Country Music’s Biggest Night.”
“I am thrilled to get the chance to co-host the CMAs for a second time with my pal, Carrie,” Paisley said. “This year we’ll pull out all the stops, like a miniature poodle balancing act, tightrope walking, and a new world record for the number of costume changes by my co-host. Don’t miss it!”
The 43rd Annual CMA Awards will air live November 11 on ABC.
