Mick Jagger and Keith Richards End Feud

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have ended their feud.
The legendary front man and guitarist of The Rolling Stones had fallen out over claims Keith made in his autobiography - including that his bandmate had a small manhood - but have settled their differences in time for the band to stage a huge 50th anniversary tour next year.
"Looking back at any career you are bound to recall both the highs and the lows. In the 1980s, for instance, Keith and I were not communicating very well. I got very involved with the business side of the Stones, mainly because I felt no one else was interested. But it's plain now from the book that Keith felt excluded, which is a pity. Time, I reckon, to move on," Mick, 68, told Rolling Stone magazine.

Courtney Love has accused The Muppets of "raping" the memory of Kurt Cobain.
The Hole singer feels the puppet group was disrespectful to her former husband - who committed suicide in 1994 - with their cover of his song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in their recent comedy film.
She told website TMZ she thought the version of the Nirvana track, performed in the style of a barbershop quartet, was "raping" Kurt's legacy.

Bob Dylan Recording New Album

Bob Dylan is recording a new album. The 70-year-old singer is working on his 35th studio album in Los Angeles, and it will reportedly have a Latin American influence.
Los Lobos musician David Hidalgo - who has been producing Bob's latest record, and worked on his last two albums,Together Through Life and Christmas in the Heart - said, "It was a great experience. And different. Each one has been different, all completely different approaches. It's an amazing thing, how he keeps creativity. I don't see how he does it."
David also detailed how he had introduced some Latin American instruments to the recording, such as the Tres guitar, a stringed instrument popular in Cuba and Puerto Rico: "He'd say, 'Wow, what's that? He liked the sound. So we'd get it in there."
Christmas in the Heart was released in 2009, and since then Bob has been involved in the The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams project, where artists recorded songs based on ideas and lyrics in notebooks left behind in a leather briefcase by the country artist after his death aged 29 in 1953. Bob recorded a track "The Love That Faded" for the album, which was released in October last year.

The Killers have "taken time to figure out" how to be in a band again.
The "Somebody Told Me" rockers are working on their fourth album after taking a break through much of 2010 and 2011 and bassist Mark Stoermer admits it's taken a little while to get back into the groove: "We started doing it in pieces last May, but it's taken time to figure out what it means to be in a band again, cos we took so much time off. It might be out before summer, but there's no guarantees."

Red Hot Chili Peppers Increase Morale With New Tracks
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Concerts / Tours, Upcoming Releases, Rock,
Red Hot Chili Peppers increased "morale" by writing new songs while their tour is delayed.
The "Under the Bridge" group had to postpone their US dates from January to the end of this month after frontman Anthony Kiedis injured his foot, and drummer Chad Smith said they took advantage of the time off to start on new tracks.
"We just rehearsed and came up with some ideas and new song ideas. It's good for morale, it's good for the future. The future is bright. Normally in Chili Peppers world we never really had this much of a kind of break in a tour. Before, if we had a month off, we would never get together and write song ideas. But everyone just wanted to play. It was great," Smith said.
Chad - who is in the group with Anthony, bassist Flea and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer - also confirmed former axeman John Frusciante, a member of the band for their most popular albums, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Californication, and By the Way, will not attend when they are inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in April:

Limp Bizkit Teams Up With Lil Wayne

Limp Bizkit will collaborate with Lil Wayne on their next single.
The "Faith" hitmakers have joined forces with the rapper for "Ready To Go," which will drop next week and marks the group's first release since they signed a record deal with Cash Money Records.
"It'll be a great way to let the world know that [Limp Bizkit] is a part of us. It's rock but it's hip-hop-rock. I think we got that hip-hop-rock swagger," said label founder Brian "Birdman" Williams.
The music executive also hinted the group - who were dropped by Interscope Records in 2001 following poor sales of their sixth album Gold Cobra - are planning to record a new LP: "They're just gonna go in and get it done. We're looking to put an album out this year. [Frontman] Fred [Durst]'s all the way in - he understand what we're about, hard work and dedication. To me, they're one of the hardest workers in the business."
Although Cash Money is a hip-hop label, Birdman believes Limp Bizkit is the "perfect match":

Metallica Exploring Release Strategies
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Upcoming Releases, Rock,
Metallica are thinking of "wacky" ways to release new music.
The "Enter Sandman" hitmakers' record deal with Warner expired following the release of 2008's Death Magnetic, but they have been recording new songs and are currently exploring different ways of getting the tracks to their fans.
"We're free and clear of our record contract. The world's our oyster. We can basically do whatever we want. And we're going so start figuring that out. We're writing music and we're going to be recording very soon. At some point we're going to want to share that with people that are interested in listening to it. So we gotta figure out ways we want to do that, from giving it away in cereal boxes to getting people to do handstands for it. We could come up with something wacky," drummer Lars Ulrich told Spin.
However, Lars insisted the band won't utilize unusual strategies just to be "cool," as they want to make sure their worldwide audience can still get their music:

Sinead O’Connor’s Sex Songs
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Alternative, Pop, Rock,
Sinead O'Connor's new album is "all down to the c**k."
The singer - who released her new LP How About I Be Me (And You Be You?) earlier this week - hopes people who are listening to it are taken on a journey, but admits essentially it boils down to one thing, sex: "I always liked the idea that you listened to my records like reading the diaries of someone recovering from very severe abuse. A journey documented musically, and the whole point of the journey is to get happy. There's no point taking the journey if, at the end of it, you're going to be f**king miserable. But it's all down to the c**k, obviously. As it always is."
Sinead has previously made public pleas for sex and she admits she did so to cause trouble: "It was amusing, because we're still a very repressed country about sexuality. It was hilarious, reactions and reactions, six weeks of complete f**king mayhem which was just the best six weeks I've ever had in my life!"
