At one point and time, Christina Aguilera was crediting her hubby for inspiring songs like "Ain't No Other Man." Now, Jordan Bratman is reportedly being blamed for bringing down his estranged wife's career.
According to a report, Christina -- who recently filed for divorce from Jordan after nearly 5 years of marriage -- thinks Bratman is at least partly responsible for the disappointing response to Bionic.
"She feels that he held her back when she wanted to focus more on her career," an insider claims.
Uh-huh. Kind of makes you wonder how she found so much time to film that major acting role of hers. (Burlesque, co-starring Cher, opens this Thanksgiving.)

Quote of the Day: Elton John on Awful Songs of Today
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Gossip, Pop,

"It's important they (pop stars) write their own songs, so they're not at the mercy of anyone. Songwriters today are pretty awful, which is why everything sounds the same. Contemporary pop isn't very inspiring."
-Singer Elton John discussing the current state of music.

Rihanna and Katy Perry to work on collaboration?
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Collaborations, Rumors, Upcoming Releases, Pop, R&B / Soul,
Rihanna wants to duet with Katy Perry. ‘Rude Boy’ singer Rihanna has forged a close friendship with Katy, and even organised her bachelorette party in Las Vegas last month, and now wants to work professionally with her too. Rihanna told Entertainment Today: “We want to get in the studio and hopefully make something for an album, who knows - or maybe for her re-release. We want to do something together for sure. In this industry you don’t meet a lot of people that are genuine, but Katy is such a free spirit, she has no edit button. We just clicked. We have similar personalities and a similar sense of humour and from there she just seemed like a really down to earth person.”
Rihanna’s comments come only days after she described Katy’s music as “generic” when promoting her latest album, ‘Loud’. She said: “Every song was tailored to me. I wanted songs that were all Rihanna, songs that nobody else could do. I didn’t want the generic pop record that Ke$ha or Lady Gaga or Katy Perry would do.” Rihanna’s ‘Loud’ is scheduled for release on November 12.

Glee Breaks Beatles Billboard Record
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Artist News, The Charts, Pop,
Glee has surged ahead of The Beatles to earn the most Billboard Hot 100 chart appearances by a non-solo act.
Six songs hit the chart this week for a total of 75 numbers from the hit musical series, surpassing The Beatles’ seemingly unbreakable score of 71.
The King himself, Elvis Presley, still reigns supreme as the biggest chart-topper of all time, with 108 songs on the list.
James Brown holds fast to second place with his jaw-dropping 91 hits.

“Does a painter make a painting because he has to make it by December 21st?” Justin Timberlake questioned in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. “No, he doesn’t. It happens when it pours out of him. That’s how music is for me.”
“I never stop making music,” he was quick to add … but the rest of his comments weren’t exactly filled with promise. “I don’t know what else to tell you, expect that I just don’t know [in] what capacity I want to be involved anymore.”
But somehow, we think Timberlake will be just fine. His recent film success shows that Justin may be on the brink of a new, successful movie career. “I grew up in a generation that was like, ‘why not do everything?’” he explained.
Currently, and perhaps ironically, a Facebook campaign has been started which encourages support for Timberlake to receive an Oscar for his performance in The Social Network, a film depicting the messy and controversial origins of Facebook.

LISTEN: Mariah Carey’s Newest Christmas Song
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Release Dates, Upcoming Releases, Pop,
Could this be the tune that finally tops a holiday song – released 16 years ago?
Later this fall, Mariah Carey will follow up Merry Christmas, her album from 1994, with a festive sequel.
Although “Oh Santa!,” the first track from Merry Christmas II You, won’t likely reach classic status like the single “All I Want For Christmas Is You” did, it’s still pretty fun to listen to.
At the very least, the tune is definitely worthy of a Gap commercial.
The new holiday album will hit stores on November 2.
