Marvin Gaye's son and Robin ThickeRobin Thicke is being sued for copyright infringement over his hit song "Blurred Lines."

Marvin Gaye's children have filed legal papers accusing the singer and Pharrell Williams, who features on the track, of copying elements of the song "Got To Give It Up," according to The Hollywood Reporter. They are seeking damages and a portion of the profits from the song, which has been one of the biggest hits of 2013.

The lawsuit is in response to a claim brought in August by Robin and Pharrell, asking a court to rule their song did not infringe Marvin's copyright. In their legal papers - also filed on behalf of fellow collaborator T.I. (Clifford Harris, Jr.) - the trio insisted there were no similarities between the two songs "other than commonplace musical elements."

Justin Bieber, Metallica

The members of Metallica are Justin Bieber fans.

The "Sad But True" heavy metal legends are impressed by 19-year-old teen heartthrob Justin Bieber - whose fans are affectionately referred to as Beliebers - after he said their tracks "One" and "Fade to Black" are his "jams." Speaking to Q Magazine, singer James Hetfield said, "Are we Beliebers? Yes."

Drummer Lars Ulrich added, "Is it possible to have respect for him without being a Belieber? I think the kid's really talented and obviously to go through what he's going through at that early age must be a mind***k. So the fact that he still goes out there and does it, I admire that and I think he's super talented, so I guess I am kind of a Belieber. If he likes 'One,' and Liam Gallagher likes him, OK, there you go."

M.I.A.M.I.A. believes she is a cross between Madonna and Sex Pistols singer Johnny Rotten.

The "Paper Planes" hitmaker - real name Mathangi Arulpragasam - says as an artist she is like the "Material Girl" singer as she can create all different types of music, but she has a rebellious side like punk rocker Rotten, real name John Lydon.

"People come up to me and say, 'Oh my God it's a thin line, you could either be Madonna or Jonny Rotten' ... I'm both, that's what it is," she said in an interview with UK station BBC Radio 1.

M.I.A. has previously collaborated with Madonna on the track "Give Me All Your Luvin" on her 2012 album MDNA. However, their relationship was soured when M.I.A. caused controversy by flipping her middle finger at a camera their performance at the Super Bowl XLVI NFL half-time show in February 2012, an action Madonna described as "negative" and "out of place."

Lou ReedLou Reed died of liver disease.

The legendary Velvet Underground frontman and pioneer of modern rock passed away on Sunday aged 71, and it has now been confirmed he died of complications with his liver, which he had been suffering with for a year.

The "Perfect Day" star had undergone a liver transplant in April and also had to cancel his Coachella Music and Arts Festival in California due to his illness. The transplant initially appeared to be a success and Lou was looking forward to the future and to returning to performing. "I am a triumph of modern medicine, physics and chemistry. I am bigger and stronger than ever," he wrote on Facebook in June.

However, more recently the singer and guitarist had taken a turn for the worse and when it was confirmed the disease had entered its final stages he refused further treatment and returned home. "We all agreed that we did everything we could," his doctor, Charles Miller, told the New York Times.

CherCher thought she would never release another album.

The 67-year-old singer, whose career spans more than five decades, had no plans to record new music but was persuaded by her manager. And Cher has been surprised by the reaction to her 25th studio album, Closer To The Truth - her first release in 10 years.

"I just never thought I'd make another record. I thought it was too late and I was done with music. But then my manager said I should have another go. I was singing really well, so I thought 'I'll start it and see what happens,' and here we are," the "If I Could Turn Back Time" singer said.

The iconic singer admits she is still shocked she's as popular as she ever has been: "It has surprised me. All I'm here to do is entertain people and my fans vary in ages."

Spice GirlsEmma Bunton claims the that Spice Girls were "sexy" but not "sexual."

The "Say You'll Be There" singer claims there is a huge difference between how the pop singers of today present themselves and how she and her bandmates - Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Mel C and Victoria Beckham - looked in their 90s heyday. "Back in the day the Spice Girls were fun and sexy. But we weren't sexual. Now people do take that next step and put it out there a bit more with their videos and stuff. If that's how someone wants to be and they're confident enough to bare themselves then that's completely down to them. But it's something that I personally wouldn't do. But I'm sure all this sexuality will be complained about and then it will be dropped again," she told The Daily Star.

Paul McCartneyPaul McCartney has stopped writing songs because he has so many.

The "New" hitmaker has such a large number of tracks saved up which he wants to finish before he starts on another batch. "I'm resisting writing any more songs as I've got so many. I got everything off my chest with 'New,' and next I need to go through my pile of demo ideas. It'll be like cleaning out my attic - I know I should do it even though I don't really want to," he told the Daily Star newspaper.

The star's 24th solo album, New, was only released this week, but Paul's already looking forward to his next record. "There are loads of songs I've started in the past couple of years that I need to finish off. Some are just sketchy ideas but I think there are a lot of strong ideas in my demos too, which I need to sit down and figure out how to finish," he added.
