VIDEO: Trailer for Seth MacFarlane’s ‘Million Ways to Die’
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Universal, Comedy, Trailers, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
if you've ever wondered what 1,000 Ways to Die would be like if it were set in a fictional town during the American Old West, Seth MacFarlane has answered your prayers.
In his upcoming A Million Ways to Die in the West, the Family Guy creator - who co-wrote and directed the film - stars as Albert, a nobody-type guy who falls for Charlize Theron's character, who in turn teaches him how to become a good enough gunslinger to rival Liam Neeson's villainous outlaw. The comedy - which, judging from the trailer (seen above), seems to deliver on the gore - also stars Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman, and Neil Patrick Harris and hits theaters on May 30.

First Look: The Smurfs Teaser Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Columbia Pictures, Sony, Adaptation, Adventure, Animation, Remakes, Comedy, Trailers, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
Not sure if Sony can successfully pull off a live-action/CG version of The Smurfs? Well, neither am I. But I’m not the type of person who would make snap judgments about a film or anything…
The good thing about this teaser trailer? It features an intro by - wait for it - (human) actor Neil Patrick Harris. The bad thing? It ends with some funny-looking blue guys. (And where the heck is Smurfette?)
Like what you see? Then prepare to get Smurf’d on July 29, 2011.

Getting Into Character: Hank Azaria in The Smurfs
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Sony, Adaptation, Adventure, Animation, Family, Comedy, Casting, Celeb News, Upcoming Releases,

If an animated princess and squirrel can land on the streets of New York in Enchanted, why can’t little blue guys with white hats and pants?
In the upcoming live-action/CG version of The Smurfs, the famous cartoon characters - along with Smurfette - find themselves in the big city after being pursued by Gargamel (Hank Azaria).
Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays will play human characters in the 3D-film while Katy Perry (Smurfette), George Lopez (Grouchy Smurf), Alan Cumming (Gutsy Smurf), Fred Armisen (Brainy Smurf) and Jonathan Winters (Papa Smurf) will handle just a small portion of the Smurf voicing duties.
The Sony production will open on August 3, 2011.

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:
Sigourney Weaver: She’s already taken on ghosts, aliens and Saturday Night Live—so now it’s time for Weaver to tackle her latest challenge: vampires. In Amy Heckerling’s Vamps, Weaver will actually reign as the queen over two young vampires (Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter) who, unfortunately, find love - and potential mortality - while enjoying New York’s nightlife. Shooting may begin next month.

The 2010 Academy Awards: Live Commentary
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Awards,

When you throw in an extra host, add five more Best Picture nominees, take away the Best Song performances and nominate two formerly married directors—what do you get? A night that will surely be talked about.
Although many believe the 82nd Annual Academy Awards will end with very few surprises, the possibility of an upset is still too great to ignore. Will the box office champ (Avatar) win Best Film as well? Or will The Hurt Locker - or even Inglourious Basterds - take the prize? Is Jeff Bridges a shoo-in for Best Actor…or could BAFTA winner Colin Firth sneak past him? Will Sandra Bullock have to deliver another acceptance speech, or will Meryl Streep take home her first Oscar since 1983?
To find out if the ceremony ends in a world of Hurt or Up in the Air, stay tuned here for the live results!

‘Harold & Kumar 2’ Trailer
Posted by David Onda Categories: New Line, Action, Adventure, Sequels, Comedy, Trailers, Upcoming Releases,
The brand spankin’ new full-length trailer for the sequel to Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle has now been released. What is particularly interesting is that the film is no longer called Harold & Kumar 2, but has been officially named Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. I have my doubts that this film can even come close to being as good as the first one, but the trailer looks pretty funny. Kal Penn and John Cho (and, yes, Neil Patrick Harris) are back, and this time they are breaking out of a Cuban terrorist detainment facility. I’ll reserve my judgement for the film, but you are more than welcome to place your bets now.
Check out the full-length Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay after the jump.
