Despite Being Cast in ‘Avengers,’ Elizabeth Olsen Doesn’t Like Comics

Elizabeth Olsen has never been a fan of comic books.
The 24-year-old actress plays Scarlet Witch in the upcoming superhero movie The Avengers: Age of Ultron and, although she admits she's never really been one to read a comics, she insists she had heard of her alter-ego before she was handed the role.
"I'm not much of a comic book person. I like comic book movies but my brother [Trent, a screenwriter] is the comic book guy. If I'm having a meeting, I ask my brother to tell me about it. But of course I'd seen The Avengers! I've seen all the Marvel movies. I love those movies. Marvel keep the fantastical qualities but create something as realistic as they can make for this world. There's something genuinely broken. Everyone has their Achilles' heel," she said.
The screen star admits she doesn't know how she managed to secure herself the role in the Marvel movie, but doesn't think the director, Joss Whedon, hired her to wear racy outfits like the ones in the comic.

Amber Heard’s ‘3 Days to Kill’ Condom Dress
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Relativity, Action, Drama, Thrillers, Filmmaking, New Releases,
Amber Heard wore a "condom dress" in 3 Days to Kill.
The 27-year-old actress - who is engaged to Johnny Depp - admits shooting the movie wasn't always comfortable because of adverse weather conditions and the uncomfortable costumes she donned to play Agent Vivi.
"We filmed in the winter in Paris. It was about 20 degrees on the best day and I was literally wearing dresses made out of the same material condoms are made out of. I'm not kidding, there's this incredible latex designer who does a line of latex dresses. They were as weather protective as a condom would be. It's snowing and icing. They had to keep throwing hot water on the cobblestones because it was freezing over. It was raining and snowy, there was ice all over the cobblestone streets and I'm wearing six-inch unbroken-in Louboutins and Jimmy Choos and I'm in a condom dress and a long blonde wig. Did I mention it was snowy and cold?"
Amber also revealed she is "dying" to go to a country dancing night at Los Angeles gay bar Oil Can Harry's: "I'm dying to go. Every week, I try to make plans with my gays to go and every week something happens and I can't go. I'm dying to."
Michael Keaton: Robocop Costume a “Sissy Suit”

Michael Keaton claims the new Robocop costume is a "sissy suit."
The actor - who appears in the cyborg cop reboot as Raymond Sellers, CEO of the evil Omnicorp organization - joked the special effects armor Joel Kinnaman had to wear as the title character wasn't a patch on the rubber suit he had to don to play Batman in 1989.
"That sissy suit - they have air conditioning in it. [When I played Batman] I couldn't do [any] of that because I couldn't get up to go the bathroom. They put me in this thing and inside, honestly, I started having panic attacks. Literally, panic attacks. So, I thought, 'I don't know how I'm going to do this, man. I'm feeling really, really scared.'"
While costume design has come on since the 80s, Joel said his 45lb suit was still difficult to wield, and took almost two hours to put on each day. "It was a bit of a challenge to put on. It was so uncomfortable, it was digging in everywhere, it was pressing down on my shoulders, and I was sweating like a pig. After twenty minutes, I said, 'I gotta get out of this!' And then, it was a daunting idea that I was going to have to wear this for 14 hours a day, six days a week for five months," he said.

+ It's a good thing that Jennifer Lawrence's white dress from American Hustle only cost $3.99 for a yard of the fabric: costume designer Michael Wilkinson revealed that the actress got into some trouble eating Doritos while in costume. Yeah, we're not surprised, either.
+ Disney/Marvel announced that the sequel to Thor: The Dark World has been greenlit, adding that Christopher Yost (who co-wrote Thor: The Dark World) and Craig Kyle (who produced both Thor films) are set to write it.
+ Twilight alum Nikki Reed has been cast in horror film Email, which will be set in Singapore. Perhaps this latest American-take-on-Asian-horror project will serve as her springboard onto bigger projects, as it seemed to do for Naomi Watts (almost forgot that she was in The Ring, eh?).
+ Forest Whitaker will be taking a step behind the camera to direct Lionsgate's adaptation of the best-selling book The Shack.

Quote of the Day: Angelina Jolie on ‘Maleficent’ Costume
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Buena Vista, Disney, Adaptation, Adventure, Family, Filmmaking, Upcoming Releases,

"These little kids would visit the set, and I would think, 'Oh, I am a Disney character,' so I would go over to them, and say, 'Hi there.' They would just scream. One little kid even said, 'Mommy, please make the mean witch stop talking to me.' [My daughter] Vivienne was the only 4-year-old who didn't scream when she saw me."
- Angelina Jolie talks about reactions to her costume on the set of Maleficent at Disney's D23 Expo.

+ Emma Roberts donned a blonde wig and mini skirt this Halloween, a nod to her famous aunt Julia's most iconic role from Pretty Woman.
+ Zoe Saldana was photographed on the set of her upcoming film Nina, a biopic of the famous jazz singer Nina Simone. Complete in a headwrap and beige shift dress, the actress also appears to be wearing makeup to darken her skin (many, including Simone's daughter, were upset that the light-colored actress Saldana was chosen to portray the dark-skinned legendary songstress).
+ Johnny Depp has been cast as the lead role in Inception cinematographer Wally Pfister's directorial debut, Transcendence, which will see him play a man who will be sucked into an evil computer he created.

Glenn Close Wears Her Movie Costumes
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrity Gossip,
Glenn Close keeps her outfits from her TV and film roles.
The 65-year-old actress "hates" shopping and doesn't buy many clothes for herself, so she likes to wear the costumes donned by her screen alter-egos. "I really hate shopping. Maybe a handbag. I don't spend a lot of money on myself. I'm very lucky I can wear some of the costumes from the Patty Hughes character in the series Damages," she admitted.
Glenn has enjoyed a career which has spanned four decades, but she believes social networking website Twitter has had a huge impact on the film industry. The screen icon thinks micro-blogging site has made it harder to get certain types of movies commissioned, meaning independent films face more "challenges" than ever before.
"Studios make their money with Spider-Man and Transformers. The big movies make the money and they can't afford to make the smaller movies because of things such as marketing costs. There will always be independent films and there are the film festivals that are important venues for those movies but it's never going to be easy. It's challenging and I know there's an audience for independent films - but they're not in the 18 to 25 demographic. There are so many different ways to watch films now. If you don't have a movie that's Tweetable in the first five minutes you're told you've got a problem. People are always fascinated by stories. The challenge is there are a lot of things competing for people's attention against films."
Andrew Garfield Almost Suffocated in Spider-Man Mask
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Columbia Pictures, Action, Adaptation, Remakes, Science Fiction, Thrillers, Filmmaking, Upcoming Releases,
Andrew Garfield almost suffocated in his Spider-Man mask.
The Amazing Spider-Man star was filming a scene in a sewer when he managed to get water on his spandex face cover, which prevented him from breathing.
"I had to get wet, and I just kind of dove in and didn't realize that water on the mask made it impossible to breathe. So I was kind of, like, suffocating. I couldn't get any oxygen! I water-boarded myself," he said.
Andrew stars as a young Peter Parker in the reboot of the film franchise alongside his girlfriend Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) and Welsh actor Rhys Ifans (Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard).
Director Marc Webb says he knew the 28-year-old star was the right man to play Peter when he saw him eating a cheeseburger through a screen test he devised where the star would act out learning his life was in danger in the middle of lunch:

Michelle Pfeiffer Would Return to Catwoman
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Adaptation, Mystery, Remakes, Science Fiction, Thrillers, Celebrity Gossip,
Michelle Pfeiffer would be open to playing Catwoman again.
The 54-year-old actress portrayed the sexy supervillain in 1992 movie Batman Returns and enjoyed tackling the role, though she thinks it is "unlikely" she will asked to play the character again in the future.
"Probably, if they asked me. It's unlikely that they're going to ask me," she said when asked if she would reprise her role.
The Dark Shadows actress would hope for a more comfortable costume if she ever did return to the role, admitting the tight-fitting catsuit would become "vacuum packed."
"It was probably really unhealthy and it would literally just start to squeeze my skin. I was only allowed to wear it for so many hours," she added to E! News.
