This thing is really getting out of hand. One day, you’re a millionaire, a much-loved athlete whom the world reveres. The next, you’re the center of a media sensation that’s getting more out-of-control all the time. This is the power of suggestion.

Listen to Alleged Tiger Woods Voice Mail, Read His Apology

It appears the car accident isn’t the only thing Tiger Woods is “responsible” for these days.
In a new statement posted on his personal website, the famed golfer came short of admitting any he had been involved in an extramarital affairs. The 33-year-old did, though, claim once again that he is “short of perfect” and apologized to his family for any “transgressions” that may have let his family down.
Today’s post (which can be read fully after the jump), comes on the same day Us Weekly published a reported voice mail made between the golfer and another woman he had allegedly been seeing. Although last Friday’s car accident reportedly stemmed from a National Enquirer story about Woods and a woman named Rachel Uchitel, this new story claims Tiger had been dating a 24-year-old cocktail waitress off-and-on for approximately 31 months.

Tiger Woods Charged: Faces Fine for Carelessness

Tiger Woods has been charged by the Florida Highway Patrol with careless driving, a non-criminal offense that will add four points to the golfer’s license.
The citation comes as a result of Woods’ car accident last Friday. Although Tiger has repeatedly avoided further questioning by authorities, a patrol official said their work on this incident is over. “With the issuance of this citation, the Florida Highway Patrol has completed its investigation into this matter,” Maj. Cindy Williams said.
The fine could cost as much as $164, a mere drop in the bucket to the millionaire athlete.

Tiger Woods Drops Out of His Own Tournament

“I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week,” Tiger Woods said in a statement he released Monday. “I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I’m very sorry that I can’t be there.”
Of course he can’t attend the tournament - the media has launched itself into a rabid frenzy since his accident over the weekend, an event which has sparked rumors of everything from substance abuse to cheating on his wife.
So far, the investigation is “ongoing” and any criminal charges in the case are “pending.” Because of it, “Woods will not participate in any other tournaments in 2009 and will return to action next year,” according to a statement released from his reps. The Chevron World Challenge, the event which no longer features Tiger, will carry on as planned.
Woods was leaving his home around 2 a.m. several days ago, striking first a fire hydrant and then a tree on a neighboring property. Police have stated that the crash did not involve alcohol.

The well-publicized accident Tiger Woods was recently involved in has created a lot of speculation and rumor. After all, how often does someone completely trash a vehicle when they’re all alone and not drunk?
In a statement written on Woods’ site, the golfer had this to say: “I have some cuts, bruising and right now I’m pretty sore. This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

Tiger Woods’ one-car accident might not have involved alcohol, but it may have involved another dangerous factor: an angry woman.
Although Elin Nordegren supposedly rescued Tiger Woods from his vehicle, the golfer’s wife may have actually played a role in the accident.
According to sources, scratches found on the athlete’s face were not a result of a crash into a fire hydrant or a tree, they stemmed from an earlier argument with Elin. A fight that might have involved accusations of an affair. The golf club Nordegren reportedly used to break open the car’s windows may have also been used to strike the vehicle as Woods was trying to drive away.
