Although she’s been known to talk about her morbid fascinations, Lady Gaga has never brought her deadly inspiration to the stage—until now.
The “Alejandro” singer plans to team up with scientist Gunther Von Hagens - who is famous for his Body Worlds exhibitions, which depicts preserved human corpses in various poses - to come up with a striking new vision for her Monster Ball Tour.

Lady Gaga Always in Character

Even Lady Gaga is insecure. The eccentric singer - famed for her daring outfits - refuses to let herself give into her feelings of self-doubt because she needs to maintain her pop persona at all times.
“When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year-old girl. Then I say, ‘B***h, you’re Lady Gaga, you get up and walk the walk today.’”
The “Bad Romance” singer - real name Stefani Germanotta - takes her image so seriously, she wouldn’t even let ill-health stop her from dressing up: “If I were to ever, God forbid, get hurt onstage and my fans were screaming outside of the hospital, waiting for me to come out, I’d come out as Gaga.”
Despite her gruelling dance routines, the star also refuses to drink water on stage as she thinks showing signs of weakness such as dehydration would let her fans down. “I don’t even drink water onstage in front of anybody, because I want them to focus on the fantasy of the music.”
Gaga takes her inspiration from the late Michael Jackson because of the way he carried on even after his hair caught fire during filming of a Pepsi commercial in 1984. “Michael got burned, and he lifted that glittered glove so damn high so his fans could see him, because he was in the art of show business.”

Ashlee Simpson Moving from Melrose to Broadway?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Television, Rumors, Where Are They Now?,
Maybe Ashlee Simpson won’t suffer too badly from being ousted from Melrose Place, after all.
Gossip suggests that Simpson will soon be playing Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago. However, reps for Simpson and the show have yet to confirm the rumors.
This wouldn’t be Ashlee’s first time tackling the role. She also appeared in a London version of the musical in 2006.

Abigail Breslin Nabs Broadway Gig
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Child Stars, Where Are They Now?,
Academy Award-nominated Abigail Breslin will be following in Patty Duke’s footsteps. The actress, 13, will soon be starring in the first Broadway revival of The Miracle Worker as Helen Keller. Duke originally played the role on Broadway and in the subsequent movie (for which she won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar, the youngest actress ever to receive the honor at that time).
Breslin is the fourth-youngest actress ever to receive the Academy nomination; she was selected for the award thanks to her work in Little Miss Sunshine.
“I am so honored,” she said of receiving the Broadway role. “It’s like the biggest thing in the world…I’ve always known the story, and it’s always been something I wanted to play.”

Jay-Z Wants Cold Yoga

Jay-Z wants yoga lessons from Chris Martin.
The “99 Problems” rapper has been supporting Chris’s band Coldplay on tour and admits that he is envious of the singer’s on-stage flexibility and wants to be able to mimic his movements.
The hip-hop star, who is good friends with Chris and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow, said, “I try and work out four times a week—cardio, weights, push ups, pull ups—but I haven’t for a month because of vacation and touring. Chris hasn’t tried to get me to do yoga yet, but I am close to doing it. I’m envious of what he can do on stage. Watching him is amazing, he can really move. I want to be able to move like that, get my leg behind my ear, things like that.”
The rapper, who is married to Beyonce Knowles, enjoys life on the road but admits he misses his home comforts: “I miss my bed, the comfort of your own bed, there’s nothing like it. I only trust my own sheets. I don’t take my own with me though.”
Old Man Mark Ronson
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Dating, Rants,
T-shirt avoider Mark Ronson has the spirit of an 80-year-old man.
The 34-year-old music producer rented a Cadillac car when he first passed his driving test, but admits that his choice of vehicle could have been more daring.
“When I got my license I leased a Cadillac, because my inner driving spirit is that of an 80-year-old man. You always see old people in America driving them really slowly because they’re so uncomfortable. It’s like being in a hovercraft.”
Mark also revealed he is scared of performing live because he fears people will shout expletives at him if he messes up: “All I expect is for someone to yell out, ‘You’re a f***ing w****r!’ You do have that fear, it comes from the same place that makes me shake uncontrollably before I go on stage. I think it’s partly nerves, but it’s partly what keeps you on your toes.”
Although Mark has dated a string of beautiful women, including British model Daisy Lowe, he doubts his ability to seduce females that he finds attractive.
He told Esquire: “I’ve never been the kind of person out on the prowl bedding different girls every night. I went through a two-week phase, but it was really awful. The “man about town” thing is so cliched—I’d hate to think that I was subscribing to any idea of what someone in my position should be like. There’s also the slight problem that the type of girl I go for would be way less likely to like me because I’m Mark Ronson. They’d much rather be talking to a Klaxon in the corner.”
Katie Holmes: A Broadway Bomb?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies,
And to think they bumped Mario Lopez for this…
Although Katie Holmes’ is apparently getting a sizable paycheck for her Broadway debut, ticket sales have reportedly been underwhelming. According to the New York Post, advance purchases for All My Sons have not yet reached the $1 million mark. In comparison, when Tom’s last wife (a.k.a. Nicole Kidman) hit the stage, The Blue Room raked in $4 million before opening night. (And that was at 1998 prices!)
Of course, both ladies have to take a back seat to Julia Roberts’ 2006 stint; tickets for Three Days of Rain were snapped up in just one day.
So if you have the free time and $300 to spare, it sounds like you may have your choice of seats to jump on this September.

Katie Holmes’ Paycheck Means a Smaller One for Mario Lopez
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies,
While I’ve never been a huge fan of Ms. Holmes, I like to think of this as karma coming back to bite Mario in the ass.
In case you haven’t already heard the news, Katie Holmes has finally chosen to put Suri down and get back to work. (Seems her Mad Money gig wasn’t satisfying enough for her or anyone who watched it.) But instead of returning to the big screen, Holmes has chosen to make her Broadway debut in All My Sons, a revival of an Arthur Miller play.
So what does Katie’s decision have to do with Lopez? Well, in order to recoup the money for
the actress’ paycheck, the producers had to seek out a venue with more seats. Unfortunately, taking over the Schoenfeld Theater meant an early end to the show currently performing there: A Chorus Line starring Mario Lopez. Needless to say, Lopez is reportedly “pissed” by this news. (Oh, poor baby.)
You can expect lengthy reviews on Holmes’ performance this September.

Britney Spears: Drama Queen?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Rumors,
The appearance of pop princess Britney Spears on CBS helped boost show ratings and created buzz for weeks, lighting the Internet aflame. Is it possible that Ms. Spears could light the London stage on fire as well?
In what is truly one of the more disturbing pieces of news I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading, I have learned there are rumors Brit may be up for the role of - get this - Blanche DuBois in a theatrical production of “A Streetcar Named Desire.” The role was made famous by Vivien Leigh (perhaps better known as Scarlett O’Hara), winning her an Oscar for the film version of the Tennessee Williams play (starring a then-unknown Marlon Brando).
Okay. Britney Spears is southern and more than a little tragic - a clear enough parallel to Blanche DuBois. However, Spears is much too young for the role and has never proven herself as anything like a dramatic actress. The tragedy of DuBois would undoubtedly be overshadowed by the tragedy of Britney if she really did play the role, and the alcoholic actions of Blanche may hit too close to Britney’s home for British fans to remain comfortable. Besides all of that, it’s a completely ludicrous idea.
