If you were surprised by Fred Armisen and Elisabeth Moss’ wedding last October, you might be stunned by this news: they’ve already split up.
That’s right—the Saturday Night Live funnyman and the Mad Men star have separated less than a year after walking down the aisle. According to a report in Life & Style, the relationship actually dissolved back in May.
It’s not known at this time what may have lead to the separation.
Unfortunately for Elisabeth, this news comes just weeks before she is expected to hit the red carpet. Moss will be one of the nominees at the August 29 Emmy awards ceremony.

Heidi Montag Files For Legal Separation

It’s looking a lot less like a hoax: Heidi Montag is filing for legal separation from Spencer Pratt.
The reality star has been spotted entering the Santa Monica Courthouse in California with papers in her hand earlier today. “It’s a legal separation. It’s all Heidi can do until a lawyer gets 100 per cent involved,” a source revealed.
Onlookers claim 23-year-old Heidi looked serious as she entered the courthouse and was without her usual makeup and hairstyling. In legal papers seen by TMZ, Heidi claims “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation.
The actress-and-singer initially went to the Malibu Courthouse to file the papers, but was told they did not deal with family cases and she would have to go to Santa Monica. Heidi recently revealed she was planning to have the “best summer” following her split from 26-year-old Pratt - who she married in a secret ceremony 14 months ago.
Writing on her Twitter page she said, “Laying out in the hot sun! Enjoying the beach. This is going to be the best summer of my life!!!!!!(sic)”

-Harold & Kumar‘s Kal Penn was reportedly robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday morning. The incident happened in Washington, D.C., where Penn has been working in the White House as an associate director in the Office of Public Engagement.
-Congratulations are in order for Christina Applegate. The Samantha Who? star is now engaged to musician Martyn LeNoble. Applegate was previously married to Johnathon Schaech.
-Long-time partners Melissa and Tammy Etheridge have decided to separate. The parents of 3-year-old twins had been together for almost nine years.

Oh what a difference a year makes.
Around this same time last year, actress Kate Winslet appeared to be on top of the world. The Oscar nominee was collecting an award for her role in The Reader while simultaneously being praised for her work in Revolutionary Road.
Today, it’s being announced that Kate and her husband - Road director Sam Mendes - have been apart since before her recent 82nd Annual Academy Awards appearance.

Sean and Robin Wright Penn Split Again

It may have only been two months since they appeared at the Academy Awards together, but the glow for Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn has already ended.
Late last week, the Milk star filed for legal separation from his wife of 13 years. The moves comes approximately 16 months after Robin filed for divorce. Although he briefly dated model Petra Nemcova in 2008, Sean and Robin reunited several months later.
Penn, who listed “irreconcilable differences” as the cause, is seeking joint custody of their two kids: 18-year-old daughter Dylan and 15-year-old son Hopper Jack.

Mel Gibson’s Wife Files for Divorce

Maybe Mel Gibson and Britney Spears will have now have something new to bond over.
After 28 years of marriage, the Mad Max star’s wife, Robyn Moore, has filed for divorce. The papers were signed on April 9, just before the Easter weekend. According to People sources, Mel was overheard yesterday announcing the news to several parishioners of the church he had built.
Although Robyn had been seen with Gibson recently (she reportedly joined him for Palm Sunday services last weekend), friends say the two have actually been separated for three years. The 53-year-old’s infamous DUI arrest also happened three years ago on July 28.
TMZ claims the two were married without a prenuptial agreement. If that is the case, Robyn, 53, could receive 1/2 of their community property under California state law. As of 2006, her husband was reportedly worth $900 million.
Moore - whose attorney, Laura Wasser, assisted Britney Spears with her divorce - is currently seeking joint physical and legal custody of their 9-year-old son, Thomas. (They also have six other children who are no longer minors.) She is also requesting spousal support and legal fees.

Honeymoon’s Over for Kate Walsh and Hubby

After only 15 months of marriage, Kate Walsh‘s husband is calling it quits. Alex Young, a production co-president at 20th Century Fox, initiated the split citing the cliched “irreconcilable differences” as the reason. The filed court documents state November 22 as the official date of separation. (Nothing says “Happy Holidays” like divorce papers.)
The 41-year-old Private Practice star wed the film exec last September after a whirlwind courtship. The two met back in February 2007 and were quickly engaged three months later. It was at that same time people started questioning their relationship’s future.
According to a rep for both parties, the couple “remain on friendly terms and sincerely hope the media will respect their privacy during this difficult time.”

Marriage Over for Shania Twain

After 14 years of marriage, singer Shania Twain and her rarely seen husband, Robert “Mutt” Lange, have chosen to separate.
The two met back in 1993 and married shortly thereafter. During their relationship, the country star and her producer hubby collaborated on most of her albums including Come on Over, The Woman in Me and Up!. In the past few years, the private duo have spent the majority of their time living at their homes in Switzerland and New Zealand.
Shania’s rep confirmed the marital news in statement today. “Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage. This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time.”
Twain, 42, and Lange, 59, also have a 6-year-old son, Eja D’Angelo.

Paul McCartney Makes Heather Mills a Millionaire

Come next week, Heather Mills will not just be the most-hated women in Britain, she’ll also be one of the wealthiest.
According to UK’s Daily Mail, there may finally be an end to the Paul McCartney-Heather Mills divorce saga. The two, who announced their separation back in May 2006, have been negotiating in court over the past week. The Beatle and the Dancing with the Stars contender were married back in June 2002.
The Mail claims Mills is expected to receive a $110 million settlement. That figure is based on $40 million lump sum for her, and approximately $5 million per year for the McCartney heir up until the age of 18. (Beatrice is currently 4-years-old.) Stella’s half-sis will also have a $2 million trust waiting for her when she comes of age. In all, Mills will be raking in approximately $27.5 million for each year she was married to the music legend.
