American Idol’s Paul McDonald Dating Twilight Star

“It’s officially true,” Paul McDonald confirmed what the gossip columnists have suspected for the past several weeks. Fresh from his Thursday elimination from American Idol, McDonald confirmed that he’s dating Twilight’s Nikki Reed.

Paul never stopped smiling during his exit interview. His luck in love has apparently taken the sting from his Idol rejection. “When I first tried out for [the show], it was just kind of for fun, and I didn’t even expect to get this far in the competition.”

He’ll be moving forward with his music post-elimination. “I’ve been writing tons of material while I’m out here… I’ve been focusing a bunch on writing and working hard on stuff that’s coming out after Idol.”

We just hope he’s got a few more jacket designs up his sleeve, too.

American Idol’s Casey Abrams Back in the Hospital

The health problems with American Idol contestant Casey Abrams continue. We joked in our Thursday results recap that “for a few seconds it looked like he might need some sort of medical attention,” and the singer proved us right just minutes later.

Abrams won the coveted judges’ save after failing to secure votes following his Wednesday performance, and the experience was so overwhelming that he hyperventilated and collapsed after cameras stopped rolling.

Staff rallied and sat Casey in a chair before rushing him to the hospital, again, in his third dramatic stay of the (still rather young) AI season. Abrams had received a blood transfusion that very morning for his ongoing stomach problems.

Michael Lohan Joins Rehab Cast, Lindsay Shocked

Dr. Drew Pinsky has stated that he wouldn’t want to treat Lindsay Lohan on his reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, but he’ll lend a helping hand to dad Michael Lohan next season. Reportedly, Michael has joined the cast and started taping... and sources say Lindsay is “upset” and “shocked.”

TMZ reports that Michael Lohan began filming the show without even telling his famous daughter, though she’s certainly got enough on her mind already.

The rest of the Celebrity Rehab cast is rumored to include Tareq and Michaele Salahi (the couple who allegedly crashed the White House), former Mets pitcher Dwight “Doc” Gooden, Chinese-American actress Bai Ling (The Crow, Anna and the King), Jeremy Jackson (Baywatch) and Michael Lohan.

American Idol: Casey Abrams Still in the Top 24

Top 24 American Idol contestant Casey Abrams has been released from the hospital and he will remain on the series, according to TMZ.

Abrams was hospitalized Wednesday after he suffered stomach pains during rehearsals. He was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he received a blood transfusion. He has already finished taping his performance for next week’s show, and sources say he will not need to return to the hospital.

American Idol’s Casey Abrams Hospitalized

Casey Abrams, whom TMZ reports is certainly in American Idol’s Top 24 this year, has been hospitalized. Abrams was dealing with severe stomach pains about three hours before 20 million people were attempting to catch a glimpse of him on Idol’s Wednesday broadcast.

Abrams, 19, was rehearsing in CBS Television City when he became ill. It is expected he will be hospitalized overnight, and perhaps longer. He and the other 12 men in Idol’s Top 24 are scheduled to tape a performance for the show this Friday. We're told that if he’s not well enough to go on stage, Casey Abrams will be eliminated from the contest.

Dr. Drew Wouldn’t Treat Lindsay Lohan for Addiction

Dr. Drew Pinsky has handled sex addiction, drug abuse and some of the most entitled celebrities ever to grace reality TV … but he’s not anxious to help Lindsay Lohan overcome her substance abuse problems.

“The only way I would take her is if she would agree to stay in treatment for one year,” he said in a recent interview with Popeater.

But Linds isn’t alone. Dr. Drew says he’d need the same amount of time with Charlie Sheen. “I do think my team could really help them in a special way, TV or not TV, but they need longer term,” he explained.

Dr. Drew is currently being featured on the fourth season of Celebrity Rehab, which airs on VH1. Last week on that program, actor Jeremy London talked about the alleged kidnapping and forced drug abuse inflicted upon him. This week, fans are expecting to watch Janice Dickinson blow up at the staff and/or other patients … again.

Spencer and Heidi: Separating the Fact From the Reality

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt reconciled quickly after filing for divorce last summer, and now they’ve finally admitted it was all a hoax. The two former MTV reality stars recently revealed their motivations to Life & Style magazine.

According to the magazine, the duo spent the $10 million they earned while starring on The Hills, and now they’re on the verge of filing for bankruptcy.

“After they found out The Hills would not be renewed earlier this year, Heidi and Spencer concocted a plan to get attention by divorcing shortly after their anniversary. The reality duo tell Life & Style there was interest in a series covering their split from British TV network ITV, so they splashed down cash to move their act to Costa Rica. But that deal fell through and soon after, they called off the divorce proceedings and reunited.”

"Divorcing was the only way to keep Heidi's career going because everyone hated me so much. Look at Sandra Bullock -- her divorce from Jesse James was the best thing to happen to her image,” Spencer Pratt illogically explained to the magazine. “Who wants to hire the jerk from The Hills?”

Now, there’s a $10 million question.

Nicole Richie Planning Christmas Wedding?

Sources report that Nicole Richie is planning to have her wedding in December, though her bachelorette party was held last weekend. According to rumors, Nicole is currently dress shopping and is thinking about holding the wedding at her dad Lionel Richie’s estate in Los Angeles.

Nicole Richie has two children with longtime boyfriend Joel Madden, and wedding rumors have been ringing for the reality starlet since the first pregnancy.

Will she actually follow through with the nuptials this time? Reps for Richie haven’t confirmed or denied the current wedding rumors.

Fantasia Talks Sadness and Suicide Attempt…on Her Reality Show

Fantasia Barrino became a hot topic last month when she was hospitalized following a well-publicized affair with a married man. The American Idol 3 winner was rushed to the emergency room after a suspected suicide attempt, wherein she overdosed on aspirin and sleep aids.

The event is detailed in Barrino’s VH1 reality show, Fantasia For Real … and we can’t decide if that’s bold or tacky. At the end of the clip above, Fantasia does seem to be looking at the world with a positive, stable outlook. “Let them talk and let them say what they want to say,” she tells the camera. “But I’m still here.”

Fantasia seems ready to take on the world as gives the camera a smile. “I’m back. Tasia’s back.”

MTV’s Snooki Arrested for Disorderly Conduct

Jersey Shore’s Snooki was arrested by the Seaside Heights police department this afternoon - and already the third season of MTV’s reality show is far more exciting than the tenth season of American Idol.

Snooki, real name is Nicole Polizzi, was booked by New Jersey officials for disorderly conduct. Although details are unclear, sources say she was partying on the beach earlier in the day. The reality show cast just began taping Season 3 of the MTV program this week.

According to TMZ, she was released from custody just a few hours later. Check back for the mugshot and more details as they become available.
