Tom Cruise allegedly tried to convert Penelope Cruz to Scientology.
The Mission: Impossible actor is said to have enlisted the help of Church leader David Miscavige in the early 2000s to help him convince his then-girlfriend and Vanilla Sky co-star to allegedly drop her Buddhist beliefs and convert to his religion. Mark "Marty" Rathbun, who used to be Inspector General of the Church, spoke out in a new documentary called Scientologists at War, telling how top Scientologists were tasked with pandering to Tom's every need - including helping him recruit Penelope for auditing, which is the cleansing of negative influences in order to heighten spiritual awareness and access untapped potential.
"Cruise started making some noises about getting some help [from the Church of Scientology, and] Miscavige had me drop me everything. I helped him on his divorce from Nicole and then I was auditing him and I was helping him get Penelope auditing. I was helping him in all aspects of his life," Marty said.

Penelope Cruz Pregnant?

Penelope Cruz is reportedly pregnant.
The All The Pretty Horses actress and her Skyfall actor husband Javier Bardem are thought to be expecting a sibling for their two-year-old son Leonardo, according to the New York Post's Page Six.
The couple - who had been friends for years - started dating in 2007 and married in early July 2010 in an intimate ceremony at a friend's home in the Bahamas. Penelope, 43, has previously spoken out about how motherhood has transformed her life: "From the first second, you feel so much love. It is a revolutionary experience. That's the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever."
She is also determined to keep her kids out of the public eye, despite hers and 43-year-old Javier's successful careers. "I want my son and my kids - if I have more - to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible. The fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work we do doesn't give anybody the right to invade our privacy," she explained.

The 38-year-old actress - who has 17-month-old son Leonardo with husband Javier Bardem - is believed to be expecting her second child with the actor, Spanish TV program Espejo Publico is reporting. They claim a source close to the couple, as well as an insider who has been working with the actress in Madrid, have confirmed the brunette beauty is three months pregnant.
Penelope recently admitted she is having the time of her life being a housewife and staying at home to look after Leonardo, describing it as the "best thing in the world." She said, "I'm a housewife and it's beautiful, the best thing in the world. I know how to cook and it's important to me to make fresh food every day. I don't do crazy diets, just the good Mediterranean food that I love because it's important to eat well."
Penelope also recently admitted she "worries less" since becoming a mother as beforehand she "always loved" to be concerned about everything in her life: "For me, having my son means I worry less. I've always loved to worry - ever since I was a little girl people would tell me I worry too much. But these days I really have to pick my subjects to worry about because there are only so many hours in the day."
Javier Bardem: No Positives to Being a Celebrity

Javier Bardem says there are no positives to being a celebrity.
The Oscar winning Spanish actor - who has a 14-month-old child with wife Penelope Cruz - hates talking about his personal life and is annoyed that people are interested in anything other than his movies.
"There is no good side to celebrity. [Talking about my personal life] brings some other pressure and expectation that maybe a movie doesn't deserve. It can help in some ways but not in others. There is nothing perfect. I guess these ideas belong to people's perceptions from the outside. But we're used to that. There are perceptions from the outside and then there is us. The real us," he said.
Javier also called acting one of the hardest jobs in the world and says he finds it difficult to shake off his more emotional roles after filming ends: "I do a job and am lucky enough that to do a job that I love but it is a hard one. I'm not saying it is as hard as working in a coal mine but it is still difficult in a different way. Sometimes you have to go through very strong emotional journeys and then come back to yourself and that can be difficult to control."

Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem Marry

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may arguably be the hottest couple in Hollywood, but they are not the hottest married couple in town.
A rep for Penelope Cruz has just confirmed that the actress wed 41-year-old Javier Bardem in a private ceremony earlier this month. The Vicky Cristina Barcelona co-stars exchanged vows before family at a friend’s house in the Bahamas.
Penelope, 36, wore a dress by designed by longtime friend John Galliano for the nuptials.
Although the two had long been rumored to be engaged, the reports had never been confirmed. The Oscar winners, both from Spain, had been dating since 2007.

Hope for Haiti Telethon Success

Madonna, Beyonce Knowles and Tom Cruise joined George Clooney in yesterday’s telethon to raise funds for victims of the Haiti earthquake.
The telethon - broadcast from Los Angeles, New York and London - saw more than 140 stars come together to perform and raise funds to aid relief in the Caribbean state, which has been struck by two huge earthquakes in the last two weeks, leaving hundreds of thousands dead.
“This is a tragedy that reaches across all borders, all boundaries. It demands our attention, our help and our compassion. The Haitian people need help. They need to know that they are not alone. They need to see that we still care,” George said.
While Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Bono, Coldplay, Rihanna, Sting, Stevie Wonder and Sheryl Crow all performed, addresses were made from ex-US president Bill Clinton, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Nicole Kidman and Samuel L. Jackson. Manning the telephones were some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, including director Steven Spielberg and actors Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Julia Roberts, Mel Gibson, Reese Witherspoon and Penelope Cruz.
The two-hour broadcast collected money via the internet and text message as well as phone donations, and is expected to raise over $150 million.

For me, award season isn’t about who walks away with a statuette - it’s about what they’re wearing when they’re doing it. Who looked great? Who should have stayed home? And who stole the show away from the actual show? That’s right - it’s time for the Oscars red carpet round up.
Pregnant Jessica Alba arrived on the red carpet in a dark maroon, empress-cut waisted dress that gave her baby bump plenty of room. Everything was okay but the top of the dress, which exploded in a profusion of feathers that made her gown look less like couture and more like curtains haphazardly wrapped around her body.
Keri Russell wore a double-stranded necklace that somehow didn’t complement her shell-colored ball gown. The color wasn’t right for Keri, and the unembellished look didn’t quite reach the elegant look Russell was no doubt going for.
