Russell Brand is planning to "fight" any charges relating to an alleged phone-throwing incident.
Paparazzo Timothy Jackson claims the 36-year-old comedian wrestled his iPhone away from him and hurled it at a nearby office window after catching him taking pictures from his car.
The Arthur star was released on $5,000 bond after handing himself in to New Orleans police on Thursday, and his lawyer Robert Glass tells E! News they are "going to figh"' any charges that may be brought.
According to TMZ.com, Russell - who has since paid $240 to fix the window - plans to argue he was provoked and that the damage to the phone was minimal.
Having filed for divorce from Katy Perry in December, Russell is believed to have found comfort in the arms of another woman last weekend - his mother. He apparently flew Barbara Brand over to Los Angeles from Britain to spend Mother's Day with him and new girlfriend Oriela Medellin Amieiro.

Michael Madsen Won’t Face Child Cruelty Charges

Michael Madsen will not face charges of child cruelty following a row with his son last Friday.
The Reservoir Dogs actor was arrested by officers at his Malibu home on felony charges of child endangerment with cruelty to a child, but after posting $100,000 bail on Saturday he was released.
Now, prosecutors have confirmed to E! News there is insufficient evidence to take the case any further. It is believed a family member called emergency services to the mansion Michael shares with wife Deanna and their three sons Hudson, 17, Calvin, 15, and seven-year-old Luke, though it is unclear which of the actor's children was involved in the fracas.
"He found his son smoking pot and they got into an argument when he tried to take it away. It's a family matter and Michael asks that his family's privacy be respected," his lawyer Perry Wander said.
Speaking about the incident after leaving police custody last week he said it was just a "big misunderstanding."
Hulk Hogan Furious Over Sex Tape

Hulk Hogan claims a sex tape allegedly featuring him and a mystery brunette was "secretly filmed."
The legendary wrestler is furious about the recording - which is currently being offered for sale to porn companies - and has branded it an "outrageous invasion of privacy." According to TMZ.com, the footage shows the 58-year-old WWE champion - real name Terry Bollea - getting intimate with an unidentified brown-haired woman who is not thought to be his blonde wife Jennifer McDaniel or ex-wife Linda Hogan.
However, it is not know when the tape was made. "Terry Bollea is appalled at the unauthorized release of a secretly filmed video. (Hulk) neither approved of the filming nor the release of the same. It is clearly an outrageous invasion of privacy and breach of trust if it is genuine. We will take all necessary steps to enforce both civil and criminal liability," his lawyer David Houston, told TMZ.
Steve Hirch, the founder of adult company Vivid Entertainment, claims he was offered the recording for a price, although the person offering the sale has not been identified.
Lindsay Lohan Completes House Arrest

Lindsay Lohan has completed her house arrest. The troubled actress - who was sentenced to the confinements of her Californian home for 35 days in May in lieu of jail time after taking a necklace from an upmarket boutique store and violating the terms of her 2007 conviction for driving under the influence (DUI) - walked out of the property yesterday afternoon, but instead of throwing a party, she made her way to the Los Angeles Downtown Women's centre, to begin her 480 hours of court-ordered community service.
"I'm excited to start community service and focus on my work," she said when asked how she felt to be free again.
As well as the 480 hours of community service, Lindsay will also have to attend an anti-shoplifting class

Maria Shriver Will Divorce Arnold

Maria Shriver has hired a lawyer, a private investigator, and now gossip says that she’ll file for divorce from her philandering husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Anybody who didn’t see this coming? According to RadarOnline, paperwork could be filed any day now. The couple has a net worth of about $500 million, give or take.
Mildred Baena, the woman with whom Arnold fathered a child, has also recently hired legal counsel. And Arnold himself? So far, no word on who his lawyer is, or if he’s hired one.
What he really needs is a good PR agent.
