Solange Knowles Loses Her Locks

Solange Knowles has shaved her head.
The 23-year-old sister of Beyonce Knowles has ditched her flowing brown locks in favor of a closely cropped hairstyle, and has even taken to her blog to discuss her new look. She wrote on her Twitter page: “i wanna cut all myHair (sic) off & have a fade phase.”
Solange was spotted sporting the new style in Los Angeles last Wednesday, but seemed too nervous to debut it in the evening. When she walked the red carpet at a Dita Von Teese burlesque show, she had covered her shaven head with a long wig.
Later tweets explained the singer’s reason for making the drastic change. “i. just. wanted. to. be. free. from. the. bondage. that. black. women sometimes. put. on. themselves. with. hair.” Apparently there was a cost benefit from the decision as well: “this. phase. of. my. life. i. want to spend . the time. the energy. and the money. on something else. not in the hair salon.”

Another presidential press conference? Who cares? What the media really cares about is Michelle Obama‘s new look!
Last night at a country music celebration, the First Lady was easily the most talked about celebrity in the room. Obama arrived at the White House event in a Michael Kors dress…and a much shorter hairstyle.
Although most assumed Michelle had trimmed her locks, her press secretary revealed the truth. “It’s an updo. Not haircut,” Semonti Mustaphi told InStyle.

A Darker Look for Kate Hudson

Goldie Hawn might have trouble exploring change, but thankfully her daughter doesn’t.
For her new role in The Killer Inside Me (no - it’s not another romantic comedy), Kate Hudson traded in her signature blonde locks for much darker tresses. The movie about a sheriff-turned-murdering sociopath also stars Casey Affleck, Simon Baker and Jessica Alba.

Last weekend, the “Me & U” singer introduced her new look via her Twitter page. “Sometimes in life, you need a change,” she teased before linking her own photos.
Want to know why she made the drastic change? “B/C I WOKE UP AND FELT LIKE IT!!! YEEEAHHH!!!” she responded.

Just when we thought Robert Pattinson would go a few more weeks without a good shampoo, the Twilight star decided to throw us off. In the picture on the right, the vampire is seen walking around Los Angeles with an entirely new head of hair. (You can see more pics here.)
