Sarah Palin Talks About Her Abrupt Departure

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Videos, Where Are They Now?,

Wearing high waders and a T-shirt, former Governor talked to CNN while sporting a ponytail. I believe the interview was meant to clarify her decision to abdicate her high-ranking political office, but it only served to raise more questions.

“I want to help Alaska in different venues, on a different level,” she said.

Sarah Palin to Pick Up a Pen?

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Rumors, Where Are They Now?,

Sarah Palin

Some are estimating that governor could make as much as $7 million to put her thoughts to paper in a book. This huge total is just $3 million shy of the sum Bill Clinton received for his 2001 tome. Clinton’s staggering paycheck was the largest ever awarded a former president for a book deal.

Currently, paparazzi are chasing Palin and snapping her pic at every opportunity. Some say these pictures could go for as little as $300, but others say a Palin shot could fetch something in the five-figure range.

Palin drew attention early for her folksy charm and homespun catchphrases. Her party did not win the election, but Palin seems to have won her place in the public eye. With reports of a possible pundit spot, a talk show gig and now a multi-million-dollar book deal, Palin’s future looks bright - and highly, highly public.

Sarah Palin: No Alaska for Hot New Media Star

Description came onto the election scene much later than John McCain, President-elect Barack Obama or Vice President-elect Joe Biden - but she instantly became the media’s favorite contender. New gossip suggests that Palin may not pack her bags to head back home right away…she just might have some gigs lined up in Tinseltown first.

A spokesman for Random House (one of the biggest publishing houses in the biz) told the New York Post’s Page Six that “there are several of our imprints who are eager to talk to Governor Palin. She clearly has a constituency and we know books by conservatively-centered politicos usually sell very, very well.” So she might as well take more jobs away from the real writers of the world.

Other gossip hints that Palin could be offered a slot as a TV pundit (I’ve got money riding on this one - I just know would do damn near anything to have her) or even as a talk-show host.

Sure, that makes sense.

New York Governor Allegedly Involved in Prostitution Ring

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Legal Issues, Breaking News,

Eliot SpitzerUPDATE: Spitzer will not face any criminal charges. There was no evidence that Spitzer had misused public or campaign money to pay for the women.

Thanks to a report in today’s New York Times, New York Governor Eliot Spitzer was forced to speak during a press conference about his supposed ties to a prostitution ring.

With his wife by his side, the former Attorney General addressed the media without referencing the allegations directly.  (According to the story, the governor is under investigation for meeting up with a prostitute in a Washington D.C hotel room.)  In his statement (he did not take any questions), Spitzer said:

“I have acted in a way that violates my obligations to my family.  That violates my, or any, sense of right and wrong.  I apologize first, and most importantly, to my family.  I apologize to the public whom I promised better.”

(You can listen to the presser here.)

Although Spitzer reportedly told his senior staff members about the investigation, he did not make it clear for the reporters what this means for his current time in office.
