Ellen Page Overwhelmed by Support

Ellen PageEllen Page admits the support she has received since coming out has "blown her mind."

The X-Men: Days of Future Past actress revealed she is gay at the Human Rights Campaign's Time to Thrive conference in February and admits she expected to be subjected to some "vicious" comments afterwards.

"I've experienced basically nothing but support, it's actually really kind of blown my mind. I thought there would be a lot more viciousness," she said.

The 27-year-old star admitted she was "afraid" to make the revelation because of the expected backlash, and she thinks it is "beautiful" so many people have had kind things to say: "Maybe that's because you're afraid and for some reason you have this perspective, because of probably your own anxiety. So to me, that's been the most beautiful thing, because it's so indicative of the change that's happened and the growth that's happening. For me, it's been basically nothing but support."

Ellen Page: Bryan Singer Claims Are Disturbing

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Rumors,

Ellen PageEllen Page has called the sexual abuse allegations against X-Men director Bryan Singer "super disturbing."

The actress, who stars in X-Men: Days of Future Past, has spoken out about Bryan's ordeal, after two men accused him of abuse when they were teenagers.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the star called the claims "super, super disturbing" and said, "I guess the truth will come out in the way that it does, but it's hard to hear about someone being in that situation, someone you like working with." But whatever happens in the case, she said, "I do think that there's a systematic issue of people in places of power manipulating and abusing young people."

Bryan, 48, was hit with a second sexual abuse lawsuit this month after a man accused him of allegedly abusing him at a London hotel with Broadway producer Gary Goddard when he was just 17.

Ian McKellen Ellen Page

Ian McKellen has praised Ellen Page for coming out.

The veteran actor - who publicly revealed he was gay in 1988 - is glad the star has been open with the world about her sexuality and thinks it will serve as encouragement for other people to see "it does get better." He told Buzzfeed, "All this has come to a happy conclusion, hasn't it? With Ellen Page ... coming out. That gladdened my heart so much. For people who are lonely... reading that about someone whose career they follow is a little bit of a help and encouragement to them to think it does get better."

PHOTO: Ellen Page Snuggles Up to Alexander Skarsgard

Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard

Are Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard the new Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson?

Perhaps in a bid to drum up some buzz (congratulations - you've got it!) for his upcoming film The East, director Zal Batmanglij posted this photo of his two leads on Twitter. Though a friend close to the pair claim that they're just pals, Ellen liked the photo enough to retweet it on her own page, adding the caption, "Canadian tuxedo party," in regards to their matching denim looks. While they could be friends, the co-stars look a little more than just that in the photo. I guess we'll just have to see whether or not they really are an item once the film is out of theaters!

Ellen Page Enjoys the Boring Stuff

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies,

Description loves shoveling goat manure.

The actress took time away from the spotlight after appearing in 2007 movie Juno to deal with her newfound fame, and found relaxation by completing manual tasks.

“I went to Oregon to study permaculture and lived in an eco-village for a month outside Eugene. It’s called Lost Valley. It was amazing and exactly what I needed,” she said. “You’re learning how to live in a holistic way with the cycles of the Earth. At one point I was digging goat manure and putting it into a wheelbarrow, and while shoveling it, I just went, ‘Oh, my God, this is exactly what I want to be doing right now.’”

Ellen is determined not to change now that she’s famous, adding her life is so normal she hopes people won’t be interested in hearing about it. “I’m not a fancy person. I love small spaces. I like tiny cars. I don’t buy things, aside from music and books. I don’t get loads of attention and maybe it’s because I’m kind of boring,” Page explained. “I don’t think I’m boring, but I have different interests. I don’t go out much, not because I’m hiding but because I’m not a big drinker. I go out and have a good time, I go to concerts and stuff.”

The 22-year-old told the USA Today that she gives herself a stern talking to if she is ever moody because she does not want to appear spoiled. “I woke up the other day and I was noticing that I was cranky. That’s ridiculous. The only times I get conflicted with my job is that I feel so lucky.”

Page’s new film, , opened in theaters this weekend.

The Oscars: Red Carpet Fashion

Jessica Alba at the OscarsFor me, award season isn’t about who walks away with a statuette - it’s about what they’re wearing when they’re doing it. Who looked great? Who should have stayed home? And who stole the show away from the actual show? That’s right - it’s time for the red carpet round up.

Pregnant arrived on the red carpet in a dark maroon, empress-cut waisted dress that gave her baby bump plenty of room. Everything was okay but the top of the dress, which exploded in a profusion of feathers that made her gown look less like couture and more like curtains haphazardly wrapped around her body.

wore a double-stranded necklace that somehow didn’t complement her shell-colored ball gown. The color wasn’t right for Keri, and the unembellished look didn’t quite reach the elegant look Russell was no doubt going for.
