Denzel Washington: Whitney Houston Was an Example

Denzel Washington thinks that Whitney Houston's death is an "example to keep it together."
The 57-year-old actor believes his friend - who was found dead in the bathtub in her Beverly Hills hotel room in February - didn't realize the terrible toll her addiction to cocaine and crack had taken on her and should be a warning to all actors and musicians not to be seduced by the dark side of fame.
"Whitney was such a sweet, sweet girl and really just a humble girl. It's more of an example to me or the rest of us to keep it together. I was listening to her song 'I Look to You.' It's prophetic. Maybe I'm speaking out of line. Maybe she thought she could have one. And then the next thing you know, her body was betraying her. She didn't know that her body was aging quickly. She couldn't take it. Your body can only take so much. Some people survive [Hollywood and fame], and some people don't."

Jennifer Hudson Forgives Balfour for Murdering Her Family

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Music, Television, Obituaries,
Jennifer Hudson has forgiven her brother-in-law for murdering her three members of her family.
The 30-year-old singer-and-actress has spoken out for the first time since William Balfour received three life sentences for killing her mother Darnell Donerson, 57, her brother Jason Hudson, 29, and her seven-year-old nephew Julian King on October 24, 2008, but she says it's "not his fault" that he shot them. When asked if she forgives him on last night's episode of Oprah Winfrey's chat show Oprah's Next Chapter, she said, "Yes, because I feel like for the most part it's not his fault. It's how he was brought up. We tried to offer love, but you were so far gone, that you couldn't even see that. A lot of things came out, that we didn't even know about, from his upbringing, which is like he never had a chance. Had you had the love my mother gave us, or the background that some have, then you would've stood a chance."

Slipknot Wants Paul Gray’s Doctor to ‘Pay’

Slipknot want Paul Gray's doctor to "pay for what he has done."
The group are "in a state of anger and sadness" following the news Dr. Daniel Baldi has been charged with the involuntary manslaughter of the bassist - who had battled addiction for many years and died of an accidental overdose in June 2010 - and have vowed to do all they can to help the investigation, with the medic also being probed over the deaths of seven other patients.
"As the loss of our brother Paul Gray is still very fresh for us in the Slipknot family, this new development has us all in a state of anger and sadness. The fact that this person took advantage of our brother's illness while he was in a position to help others has outraged everyone in our family. We can only hope that justice will be served so this can never happen to anyone else ever again! Our thoughts go out to the families of the other victims. We plan to cooperate as much as we possibly can to ensure this tragedy is never repeated, and to make sure this man pays for what he has done," they said in a statement.
If Baldi is convicted of all the charges, he could face up to 16 years in jail.
Paul Gray’s Doctor Charged with Manslaughter

Paul Gray's doctor has been charged with the involuntary manslaughter of the Slipknot rocker.
The bassist died of an accidental overdose in June 2010 and his physician Dr. Daniel Baldi is to face charges of prescribing high amounts of painkillers to people who later died. The medic - who is being investigated over the deaths of eight people, including the rocker - is also facing administrative charges from the Iowa Board of Medicine, which could lead to suspension of his medical license.
However, his lawyer Guy Cook called the charges "unprecedented." He told the Des Moines Register, "It is unprecedented to turn unfortunate deaths or medical results into a crime against a doctor."
The charging documents relating to Paul - who struggled with addiction - said the doctor "did unintentionally cause the death of Paul Gray by the commission of an act likely to cause death or serious injury, to-wit, continually wrote high-dose prescription narcotics to a known drug addict from 12/27/2005 until his death."

Michael Clarke Duncan Died of ‘Natural Causes’

Michael Clarke Duncan died of "natural causes."
The Green Mile star passed away at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday at the age of 54, just two months after he suffered a cardiac arrest at his home and the L.A. County Coroner confirmed the cause of death today. Assistant Coroner Chief Ed Winter said the actor's personal doctor signed off on the actor's death as natural and the coroner's office found no reason to doubt the finding.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed Michael was planning to have children with his fiancee Omarosa Manigault. Her representative told CNN the couple were due to marry next year and hoped to have kids in the near future.
Celebrities rushed to pay tribute to Michael following his death, with his Green Mile co-star Tom Hanks saying, "I am terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike. He was the treasure we all discovered on the set of The Green Mile. He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned."
Sylvester Stallone Says Losing Son Has Been ‘Very Tough’

Sylvester Stallone says it's been "very, very tough" losing his son Sage.
The Expendables 2 actor admits it's been a "horrible" time since the 36-year-old actor - his son from his first marriage to Sasha Czack - was found unresponsive on July 13 at his Studio City apartment in Los Angeles, but the Hollywood star is trying to get back to normality in the best possible way by returning to work.
Speaking on Good Morning America, Sylvester - who has three daughters, Sophia, 15, Sistine, 14, and 10-year-old Scarlet, with his wife Jennifer Flavin - said, "It's tough. It's very, very tough. It's a horrible situation but, time, hopefully will heal and you try to get through it. It's something that's a reality in life. It's important to get back and try to start re-living your life. Otherwise you can go into a spiral."
To help him get over his grief, Sylvester has been promoting his latest movie The Expendables 2 - which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean-Claude Van Damme - but he also suffered heartbreak while shooting the action blockbuster when stuntman Liu Kun died from wounds he suffered during an on-set explosion in Bulgaria.

Usher’s Stepson Dies

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Obituaries,
Usher's 11-year-old stepson has died, two weeks after he was critically injured in a jet ski accident.
Kyle Glover - the child of Usher's ex-wife Tameka Raymond and her former partner Ryan Glover - passed away yesterday after the family made the heartbreaking decision to turn off his life support machine. Kyle was struck in the head during a jet ski collision while riding an inner tube on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, Georgia, earlier this month and his mother is understandably "devastated" over her loss.
Willie A. Watkins funeral home in Atlanta has confirmed it will be handling the funeral arrangements for the little boy. Last week, Kyle's family asked for prayers as they kept a bedside vigil following the tragic accident. "We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time. We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him now," they said in a statement.
Sage Stallone’s Funeral to Be Held on Saturday

Sage Stallone's funeral will take place on Saturday.
The body of the 36-year-old actor - who was found dead on July 13 - will reportedly be laid to rest in a private service at the weekend.
"Sage will be buried on Saturday. His body was picked up from the coroner by a mortuary that is based in Westwood earlier this week. The funeral will be private and it will be family and friends only and will be celebration of his life," a source said.
Meanwhile, it has been claimed that authorities investigating Sage's death believe he was a drug dealer who sold Hydrocodone - more commonly known as Vicodin - but don't think he was an addict himself as his build was not typical of habitual drug users. "He was pudgy, and drug addicts are almost always rail thin," a source told TMZ.

Morgan Freeman: Joker Role Didn’t Kill Heath

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Drugs, Obituaries, Rumors,
Morgan Freeman insists Heath Ledger's death had nothing to with him playing The Joker in The Dark Knight.
The 28-year-old actor died in January 2008 from an accidental drug overdose and while some people believe he was struggling to cope with the intensity of playing the maniacal character, co-star Morgan isn't convinced the role played any part in his untimely passing.
"Well, it's a downer when anything happens to an actor in mid-production. In fact, he didn't die during production, his part was wrapped up, but the movie itself wasn't out yet. People connected the character to his death because the character was so ... evil. People imagine that the role leaks into the man or something. And I don't think that was the case at all," Morgan said, speaking of Heath's tragic death.
Morgan - who has reprised his role as Lucius in new Batman film The Dark Knight Rises - also revealed he has no intention of retiring from acting even though he's 75: "What keeps anyone going? I have work. I have things to do. I prefer working to idleness. And I like my job. I'm lucky, I'm not working because I have to; I'm working because I love to."
