Bobby Brown Surprised by Whitney’s Drug Taking

Bobby BrownBobby Brown had no idea Whitney Houston was taking drugs before she died.

The 48-year-old singer died in Beverly Hills in February from accidental drowning caused by cocaine use and heart failure, and although her former husband Bobby has been widely blamed for introducing her to illegal substances, he claims he has been clean for seven years and was shocked to discover Whitney was still taking drugs.

"It's just unexplainable .. how one could, you know, (say that I) got her addicted to drugs. I'm not the reason she's gone. I was hurt. I was hurt ... because, you know, me being off of narcotics for the last seven years, I felt that she was, you know, I didn't know she was struggling with it still. But at the same time, you know, listen, it's a hard fight. It's a hard fight to, you know, maintain sobriety that way," he told Today's Matt Lauer.

It was claimed after Whitney's death that she and Bobby had been planning to remarry in Las Vegas. Whitney had apparently wanted to reunite with her former husband of 14 years and the pair had decided on an intimate ceremony with their daughter Bobbi Kristina as the only witness.

Jennifer Hudson Leaves Court to Avoid Nephew Photos

Jennifer HudsonJennifer Hudson walked out of court yesterday to avoid seeing photos of her murdered nephew.

The Oscar-winning-actress - who has been at the Cook County courtroom in Chicago since Monday observing the trial of William Balfour - left the room when a retired chief medical examiner showed the gunshot wounds suffered by seven-year-old Julian King. However, her fiance David Ortunga stayed behind to take extensive notes.

Julian was found dead in a car three days after police discovered the body of Jennifer's mother Darnell and brother Jason were discovered in their Chicago home. As the images of Julian were discussed in court, William was passed a tissue and he was seen dabbing his eyes. When the testimony ended, Jennifer returned to the room.

Prosecutors allege William flew into a jealous rage after he thought another man had given Julia a gift of balloons which he saw. Balfour is charged with first degree murder in their deaths in addition to home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, residential burglary and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He has pleaded not guilty. The trial is expected to last for approximately four weeks.

William Balfour murder trial

Jennifer Hudson did not hear the opening statements at the trial of the man accused of killing her mother, brother and nephew. The Oscar-winning actress and singer attended the first day of the trial of William Balfour at the Cook County courtroom in Chicago today, but did not listen to the statement, court spokesperson Terry Sullivan confirmed. Her partner David Otunga, however, sat in the fourth row to hear the case.

Balfour is charged with three counts of first-degree murder relating to the 2008 killings, with prosecutors claiming a gift of balloons sent to Jennifer's sister Julia Hudson threw him into a jealous rage, causing him to use a .45 caliber handgun to kill 57-year-old Darnell Donerson, 29-year-old Jason Hudson and Julia's son Julian King, whose body was found three days later. There are no known witnesses to the killing, and despite prosecutors claiming physical evidence of gunshot residue found on the wheel of his SUV, defense says it is circumstantial.

Ray J Didn’t Know Whitney Was on Drugs

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Dating, Drugs, Obituaries, Rumors,

Ray J and Whitney HoustonRay J had no idea Whitney Houston was taking cocaine.

The singer is furious after his on/off girlfriend's former sister-in-law Leolah Brown suggested he was to blame for the singer's death in February, as he was in San Diego when she passed away in her hotel room in Beverly Hills. Ray J's spokesperson insisted to website TMZ that the star had "no knowledge" Whitney - whose official cause of death was accidental drowning due to the effects of heart disease and cocaine use - had started taking drugs again.

Los Angeles County Coroner released the official cause of Whitney's death yesterday, and revealed as well as cocaine, traces of marijuana, Xanax, Flexeril and Benadryl were found in her system, although they did not contribute to her tragic passing.

A source connected to the investigation told TMZ.com, it is "very possible" Whitney had a heart attack that caused her to lose consciousness and drown. The heart attack may have been triggered by hardening of the arteries as a result of cocaine use. The coroner also noted that neither foul play nor trauma factored into her demise. A final report is expected to be ready for release within two weeks.
