Phiip Seymour Hoffman and Cate BlanchettCate Blanchett cleared her schedule following the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The Blue Jasmine star, who was spotted visiting the late actor's ex-partner, Mimi O'Donnell, with toys for their three children, Cooper, 10, Tallulah, seven, and Willa, five, at their home in New York City on Monday, canceled a string of appearances to take a few days off to grieve for her close friend.

A spokesperson for the 44-year-old Australian actress told The Hollywood Reporter that her team made the decision to postpone interviews on Good Morning America and Live! With Kelly and Michael to promote her new film, The Monuments Men, on Wednesday "'to allow Cate the time and privacy to grieve the loss of her friend Philip Seymour Hoffman."

Woody Allen, Cate Blanchett, and Alec Baldwin with Dylan Farrow inset

Alec Baldwin and Cate Blanchett have responded to Dylan Farrow's open letter.

The director's 28-year-old adopted daughter published a letter in the New York Times on Saturday in which she accused her adoptive father, Woody Allen, of sexually assaulting her when she was seven. The letter also asked various actors who had worked with Woody - including Alec and Cate - how they would feel if it was their child.

Responding to a fan asking if he felt he should apologise to Dylan, Alec - who has daughters Ireland, 18, and Carmen, five months - wrote on Twitter, "What the f&@% is wrong w u that u think we all need to b commenting on this family's personal struggle? You are mistaken if you think there is a place for me, or any outsider, in this family's issue [sic]."

Cate Blanchett is Overexposed, Finds Herself Excruciating to Watch

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies,

Cate BlanchettAussie starlet wishes she had a bit more mystery about her.

The Robin Hood actress worries she has exposed too much of her personal life, meaning audiences have trouble distinguishing between her and her characters and would rather be known just for her work. The mother-of-three told Parade:

“Personally, I’d love to turn into a chameleon. I love watching performances that aren’t hampered by all that personal baggage from real life. That’s why I wonder if I’ve exposed too much of Cate Blanchett instead of the women I’ve played. It’s nice to talk about being a mother, my wonderful husband and blah, blah, blah. But at the end of the day I’d rather people focus on my work. I couldn’t be what I call one of those ‘personality performers’ who expect you to see them and not a character on the screen.”

The Oscar-winning beauty also admits she finds it “excruciating” to watch herself in films: “I find it excruciating to watch myself. It’s sort of akin to watching your home videos, but doing it in public. There’s always a moment where you feel like you’ve got your pants around your ankles. I guess it’s the desire to become better that keeps one going.”

Brangelina at Cannes

The is officially underway, and that means it’s time to talk about red carpet fashion once more. Celebs flock to Cannes to see and be seen, even those who have absolutely no movies debuting at the glittering event. Some were a sight to behold…others were just a sight.

Parker was totally glam on the red carpet in turquoise, a floor-length number from Versace. Angelina Jolie, who can’t hope to hide her baby belly, wore a flowing green number with an empress-cut waist (Max Azaria).

The Oscars: Red Carpet Fashion

Jessica Alba at the OscarsFor me, award season isn’t about who walks away with a statuette - it’s about what they’re wearing when they’re doing it. Who looked great? Who should have stayed home? And who stole the show away from the actual show? That’s right - it’s time for the red carpet round up.

Pregnant arrived on the red carpet in a dark maroon, empress-cut waisted dress that gave her baby bump plenty of room. Everything was okay but the top of the dress, which exploded in a profusion of feathers that made her gown look less like couture and more like curtains haphazardly wrapped around her body.

wore a double-stranded necklace that somehow didn’t complement her shell-colored ball gown. The color wasn’t right for Keri, and the unembellished look didn’t quite reach the elegant look Russell was no doubt going for.
