Lauryn Hill leaving courtLauryn Hill has been released from jail. The former Fugees singer has left federal prison after serving a three-month sentence for tax evasion, TMZ has confirmed.

The "Killing Me Softly With His Song" singer was released early yesterday morning from the minimum security Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut. Lauryn was locked up on July 8 after failing to pay taxes of more than $1.8 million in income she earned between 2005 and 2007. Her sentence also took into account income and tax losses for 2008 and 2009, taking the total to approximately $2.3 million.

The 38-year-old star has been using her time behind bars wisely, channelling her energy into her new track "Consumerism," which she wrote before going to jail and worked to get ready for release while inside. "She wanted to get this music out while she was incarcerated, as it is a product of the space she was in while she was going through some of the challenges she has been faced with recently," a post on her official website reads.

Sinead O'Connor and Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has compared Sinead O'Connor to Amanda Bynes. The starlet hasn't responded well to the open letter the Irish hitmaker penned this morning, in which she warned Miley her provocative behavior and scantily-clad performances would leave her "prostituted" by the music business.

The former Hannah Montana star has taken to Twitter to slam Sinead, poking fun of her mental health and likening her to troubled actress Amanda, who has spent the summer in a psychiatric hospital. "Before Amanda Bynes.... There was...," she wrote, attaching a screenshot of a tweets from an account she believed was Sinead's, clamoring for psychiatric help. While the account was a fake, Sinead did post suicidal tweets in 2011 and has struggled with mental illness in the past.

But the 29-year-old Canadian singer, who married Nickelback star Chad Kroeger, 38, in France in July and has been the subject of pregnancy rumors recently, admits she isn't quite ready to star a family just yet and is focusing on her new album.

The "Rock N Roll" hitmaker told the new online chat show The Lowdown with Diana Madison, "I do [feel pressure to start a family] now that I'm married. I want to be ready. I'm focusing on my music. I'm just releasing a new record. This is my priority and my baby right now."

The singer's self-titled new album will be released on November 5 and she feels very lucky that she and Chad often get to travel together to promote their music: "We actually have spent the majority of our relationship, like all of our time together. Lady Gaga with her assistantLady Gaga claims she is "completely aghast" at her former assistant's lawsuit against her.

The "Applause" hitmaker is being sued by her ex-best friend Jennifer O'Neill, who claims the singer owes her $380,000 in overtime payments because she had to spend 24 hours a day with her and share the same bed during The Monster Ball tour in 2010.

The 27-year-old star has submitted a 200-page witness statement to give her side of the story, in which she explains that she rewards her hardworking staff with perks rather than overtime pay: "I am quite wonderful to everyone that works for me. I am going to tell you exactly what ******* happened, so that the judge can read on this transcript exactly what's going on, which is my ex-best friend is a ******* hood rat who is suing me for money that she didn't earn. The job was essentially a favor, and Jennifer was majorly unqualified for it."

Lady Gaga also claims that personal assistants are rarely paid overtime in the entertainment industry.

Kanye West and photographerKanye West has been charged over allegedly attacking a paparazzo. The 36-year-old rapper - who was caught on film reportedly assaulting photographer Daniel Ramos at Los Angeles International Airport in July - has been charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft.

The paparazzo - who was trying to speak to the star at the time of the alleged attack - filed a lawsuit last month which claimed that "without warning or provocation," Kanye "suddenly attacked, punching and attempting to wrestle the camera from" Daniel's hands after the photographer asked him: "Can we talk to you?"

According to TMZ, the star - who could face up to a year in jail if he is convicted of both charges - will be arraigned on October 10.

An evaluation worksheet previously released by the L.A. County District Attorney's Office stated that the photographer was discharged from the hospital with a contusion and muscle strain but the D.A. was not going to file felony charges against Kanye as there was no "significant injury."

Lady Gaga and Robin Thicke with Miley Cyrus

Lady Gaga thinks people need to "lighten up" and leave Miley Cyrus alone. The "Applause" singer has come to the defense of the "We Can't Stop" hitmaker, who caused controversy with her salacious on-stage antics at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last month, insisting Miley was expressing herself as a musical artist.

In an interview with talk show Watch What Happens Live last night, she said, "I mean, I just think everybody needs to lighten up and leave her alone. Because it's pop music. Everybody's entitled to their own artistic expression, and if you have a problem with it, just change the channel."

Lady GagaLady Gaga didn't miss fame during her six months out of the spotlight.

The "Applause" singer desperately "missed" performing on stage following her hip surgery in February, an injury which caused her to cancel the remaining dates on her Born This Way Ball; however, she didn't yearn for all the hoopla that often surrounds her life because of her massive celebrity.

"I'm really happy to be back and I do feel back, because even though I'm present in my mind as a person, I don't really feel truly alive unless I'm on stage. I missed being on stage. I always love seeing my fans outside, but I wouldn't say I missed the fame, if that makes any sense. I think what I've realised more than anything is that I'm really not in it for that at all."

The 27-year-old pop superstar - who performed for the first time since her surgery at the MTV Video Music Awards last month - spent a lot time watching television with her parents as she recovered from her operation.
