Lindsay LohanIn an interview conducted with Vanity Fair just one week before she went to jail for 17 days, talked about addictions and the trauma in her life. Trauma that Linds thinks is largely created by her father, Michael Lohan.

This one’s a real doozy, folks.

In the interview, Lohan categorically denies that she has substance abuse issues. “If I were the alcoholic everyone says I am, them putting a [SCRAM] bracelet on would have ended me up in detox, in the emergency room, because I would have had to come down from all the things that people say I’m taking and my father says I’m taking—so that says something, because I was fine,” Linds explains. She also said, “I’ve never abused prescription drugs.”

“I think my biggest focus for myself is learning how to continue to get through the trauma that my father has caused in my life.” Michael Lohan has been a near-constant fixture in the press both for his love affairs and his off-again with his daughter.

But Lindsay isn’t going to spend the rest of her life thinking about Michael - she hopes to get her derailed career back on track. “I don’t care what anyone says. I know that I’m a damn good actress,” she said. “I know that in my past I was young and irresponsible—but that’s what growing up is. You learn from your mistakes.” One hopes.

The Lindsay Lohan issue of will appear on nationwide newsstands by September 7.

“Ever since she left for Detroit to film LOL: Laughing Out Loud, Miley has been super focused on her work. Liam wanted more, but she’s 17 and has other priorities right now. He’s been a distraction. Miley’s not with anybody else. Liam visited her twice on the set and both visits were only about 24 hours in length, by Miley’s choice. She is not ready to settle down, and Liam’s not a happy camper. They’re both young,” a source said.

However, friends of the young stars have not ruled out a reconciliation in the future: “To say they are done forever would be premature, but it’s safe to say for now they are doing their own thing.”

Wil WheatonWe remember him best as Wesley Crusher, the only teenager to become a series regular on a series (The Next Generation, in this particular case). He was the precocious young son, the ambitious ensign and the Starfleet student - and then, he was gone.

After making standout appearances as a child actor in films like Stand By Me and Toy Soldiers, Wil Wheaton disappeared from the radar…but he’s still an active part of the geek community. Though Wheaton has not been in a feature film since 2007 (Americanizing Shelley), he has made appearances on Leverage, and Eureka.

Sara GilbertDuring the summer press tour of the Television Critics Association (TCA), - best-known for her role as wisecracking Darlene on Roseanne - announced that she is, in fact, homosexual.

Gilbert has recently signed on to co-host and executive produce a new talk show called The Talk. Julie Chen, Leah Remini, Holly Robinson Peete, and Marissa Jaret Winokur are also on the show – which seems to have an MSNBC meets vibe.

Sara explained her decision to spill the beans at TCA: “So obviously I’m going to be discussing my life more, and I felt that the first place I wanted to do it wasn’t in a CBS press release It just seemed impersonal, and I felt like I’d rather come in person and talk to you about all that stuff here.”

Lindsay Lohan’s once-and-again lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley recently spoke with paparazzi while walking to her car after visiting the actress in jail. She says Linds is “a little upset right now” over the judge’s rehab ruling, a sentence which will be invoked once Lohan is released from jail.

Judge Revel ruled that Linds will begin a stay in rehab once she’s sprung from the pokey. But now that she’s had some time alone Lohan isn’t at all happy with the sentence. Holley says Lohan wants to spend time with her family after being released from jail, not go straight to rehab.

And we all know the Lohan family environment is extremely therapeutic indeed, surely the best thing for a girl who’s in jail for violating the terms of her probation after being hooked up to an alcohol monitoring bracelet at the age of 24. Lindsay’s family is just what she needs right now - not the safe, controlled environment of rehab. Sheesh.
