Jennie Garth insists she and estranged husband Peter Facinelli still work well as parents.

Peter, 38, filed for divorce last Wednesday, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind the collapse of their 11-year marriage. But, Jennie - who met the Twilight actor on the set of 1996 TV movie An Unfinished Affair - says they are still a good team when it comes to raising daughters Luca, 14, Lola, nine, and five-year-old Fiona. "We are great parents together, so when it's about the kids, it's wonderful. They know the heartache that's behind all of this. They get it. They're doing surprisingly well. We make it very clear to them they don't have to choose sides. They can go wherever they want and be with whom they want."

Jennie, 39, has been living on the family ranch in California with the kids for the last 18 months but is now considering a move to Los Angeles to be closer to Peter.

"I want the girls to have more access to their dad, and I like him to be able to pick them up from school. I just want everyone to be healthy and happy," she explained to People.

According to divorce papers obtained by gossip website TMZ.com, both parties are seeking joint physical and legal custody of the children.
