Well, the paps in Britney’s neighborhood better get their camera gear ready—Britney Spears just checked herself out of the psych ward!

According to E! Online, the troubled singer left the UCLA Medical Center shortly before noon today and is now ensconced in one of her Beverly Hills abodes.  (You can see pics of her driving around below.)

It’s not certain if any family members were with her at the time although she was escorted by her private security detail. (Hopefully Sam Lutfi wasn’t part of that detail.)

Even though Britney is now a free woman, this however, does not change her current legal standing.  Britney’s father, Jamie, will continue to have temporary control over the singer’s legal and medical affairs.

It is assumed that Britney will (hopefully) continue receiving psychiatric treatment on an outpatient basis.
