MONDAY (10/4)
- How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8 p.m.): “When Ted turns down Barney’s offer for a building-design job, Barney tries to woo him with all of the seduction methods he uses on women.” This episode will launch the next chapter of the series: “How I Met Your Other Dad.”
- Gossip Girl (CW, 8 p.m.): “Dan is once again conflicted about his feelings for both Serena and Vanessa.” And once again, I’m conflicted as to why I’m still recording this show.
- House (FOX, 8 p.m.): “House and Cuddy go on a double date with Wilson and his girlfriend, Sam (Cynthia Watros).” House figured a night out on him could finally settle the whole “Your Girlfriend Was on the Bus Because of Me” awkwardness.

MONDAY (8/30)
- Kate Plus 8 (TLC, 9 p.m.): “Kate and the kids board a train and travel to New York City for a day of sightseeing.” See Mommy on TV. See Mommy get her extensions fixed.
- Lie to Me (FOX, 9 p.m.): “A young woman’s disappearance leads to an investigation of crime in the pornography industry.” Heidi Montag’s been on the run ever since she stole her sex tape back from Vivid.
- Dating in the Dark (ABC, 10 p.m.): “The contestants don swimwear and frolic on a makeshift beach in the darkroom.” Note to self: Bathing suit can now be worn in dark rooms.

MONDAY (7/19)
- Behind the Music (VH1, 8pm): “Usher is profiled through interviews and archival clips. The R&B star discusses his relationship with TLC’s Chilli.” I’d hate to say things are still “chilly” between them, but…
- Rizzoli & Isles (TNT, 10pm): “Jane clashes with her new boss (Donnie Wahlberg).” You have to hang tough with that guy.
- True Beauty (ABC, 10pm): Season finale. “The three beauties left are paired with celebrities to party the night away. They then don’t get to sleep it off, but instead must film a commercial about Las Vegas. One player folds like a house of cards from the sleep deprivation.” Beauty sleep is for suckers who can’t afford plastic surgery.

MONDAY (1/4)
- Heroes (NBC, 8pm): “Hiro launches a rescue mission but has trouble communicating with Ando about it.” Hiro stopped paying attention to the program a long time ago.
- Conveyor Belt of Love (ABC, 10pm): Series premiere. “A not-quite fly-by romance contest in which five women check out 30 men on a conveyor belt. The belt stops for 60 seconds to enable the guys to make to make their cases, and if two girls pick the same guy, he gets to choose.” Conveyor belt matches at sushi restaurants will become the new speed dating at bars.
- Hoarders (A&E, 10pm): “A beekeeper manages his business, but his home is unkempt.” Those worker bees aren’t great at multitasking.
