Thursday Ratings: CSI Outscores Baseball

Apparently a World Series just isn’t a World Series if the two teams aren’t names people care about. Although the numbers weren’t horrible, the ratings for Game 2 fell behind several Thursday programs. By night’s end, CBS was on top again in both categories.

Eleventh Hour8pm

  • (13.4 million, 4.4/12 in 18-49) picked up 500,000.
  • Approximately 12.8 million watched Game 2 of the (8.1/13).
  • Lindsay Lohan helped (8.7 million, 2.8/8) round up 500,000 more.
  • (6.3 million, 2.4/7) was down 200,000; (5 million, 2.2/6) fell by 1 million.
  • (4.2 million, 1.7/5) was up slightly.

Thursday Ratings: Life on Mars Goes from Best to Third

Despite having the best debut for any new drama last week, ABC saw no Life on Mars yesterday. The freshman series dropped 27% in the demos and placed third in its hour. Meanwhile, Eleventh Hour actually showed improvement and helped CBS maintain its dominance over Thursdays.

Thursday Ratings: ABC Sees Life on Mars

Despite lower numbers for Grey’s and Ugly Betty, Life on Mars’ premiere saw nice numbers yesterday. Meanwhile, CBS - with the help of CSI - scored wins with both the viewers and demos last night.

  • (13.3 million, 4.3/12 in 18-49) had a 500,000 bump.
  • (8.5 million, 2.6/7) was down slightly.
  • (7.1 million, 2.7/8) was up a notch; ‘s debut (3.2/9) pulled in 7.5 million.
  • Approximately 6.5 million watched the Phillies beat the Dodgers during Game 1 of the NLCS (2.1/5) on .
  • (4.1 million, 1.6/4) did about the same.

  • Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9pm):  “Alan tries dating two women at the same time.” I remember when Ducky was pining over just Molly Ringwald. He’s all growns up now.
  • Prison Break (FOX, 9pm):  “Sara learns something disturbing about Michael.” She realizes that if it weren’t for his steely gaze and tattoos, Michael would just be your average white guy.
  • I Want to Work for Diddy (VH1, 9pm):  Series finale. “The final contestants train with Marcus Buckingham and are interviewed by Diddy.” If they mistakenly admit their loyalty for McCain, Diddy will retreat back under the covers.
  • Exiled (MTV, 10:30pm):  “A hip hop star’s daughter is sent to the island nation Vanuatu to live in a bug-filled jungle in the shadow of an active volcano.” Had she wasted her youth watching Survivor: Vanuatu, she would have been prepared.

Lisa Bonet Joins Life on Mars Cast

Lisa BonetWhile it’s still possible to catch a glimpse of Lisa Bonet on a daily rerun of , it’s surprisingly been a whopping 17 years since the actress was last on the show. In that time, Lisa’s daughter, Zoe Kravitz, has even starred in several motion pictures (The Brave One, No Reservations). But now it’s time for mom to go back to work.

In ABC’s Life on Mars, Lisa Bonet will play Maya Daniels, the present-day love interest of the program’s lead character. The show, an adaptation of a British series by the same name, centers around Sam Tyler (Jason O’Mara), a cop who mysteriously travels back in time to the 1970’s.

Other stars already lined up for the drama include Harvey Keitel (Reservoir Dogs), (Rounders), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) and Jonathan Murphy (October Road).

Life on Mars premieres October 9th right after .
