Katie Holmes Keen for ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Reunion

Katie Holmes as Joey in 'Dawson's Creek'Katie Holmes would consider a Dawson's Creek reunion.

The 33-year-old actress thinks it would be fun to get back together with the cast of the hit teen drama - James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams and Joshua Jackson - to film a brand new series where the gang go on holiday together.

"I love everyone from the show and we have kind of talked about it here and there, but what do you do? Michelle's character passed away... Our last episode, we were already five years older. Maybe we'll go on vacation, that will be fun--and just film it!" she said when speaking on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

The popular show ran from 1998 until 2003 and afforded Katie her break-out role. The brunette beauty is currently making a return to acting and juggling rehearsals for Broadway play Dead Accounts with looking after six-year-old daughter Suri. Discussing her new project, where she plays an Ohio woman who still lives with her parents whose brother comes home after "doing something really wrong," she said, "It's a comedy, but there's a lot of heavy themes."

Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes Want a Dawson’s Creek Reunion

Dawson's Creek castMichelle Williams would be ''totally'' up for a Dawson's Creek reunion.

The Oscar-nominated actress claims she would love to reprise her role as Jen Lindley in the teen drama which ran from 1998-2003, and believes lead star James Van Der Beek should call her up to ask her.

"[James] has my email. He has my phone, and my cell phone, so we talk. He could totally ask! I've always said I'm totally up for reunion tours, reunion shows, so we can do that!" she said.

Michelle - who has six-year-old daughter Matilda - is not the only star of the show who has expressed an interest in returning to the series; Katie Holmes, who played Joey Potter in the drama, admits she would enjoy the opportunity to bring Dawson's Creek back: "It would be fun. I had so much fun working on that show and I loved everyone so much and I think about it with such fond memories."

James has previously said he has grown to appreciate his role as Dawson Leery as he has gotten older: "The older get, the easier it is to appreciate how lucky I was to have that experience."

James Van Der Beek ‘Hides’ from ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Theme Song

James Van Der BeekJames Van Der Beek admits he wants to "hide" every time he hears the Dawson's Creek theme tune.

The actor played aspiring film-maker Dawson Leery in the long-running series - which also starred Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams and Joshua Jackson - but says he still has trouble listening to "I Don't Want to Wait" by Paula Cole 10 years later.

"For some reason - and again, I need to get over this - I'm [a] 35-year-old, grown-ass man - but I want to hide somewhere [when I hear it]. If I'm in public and the song comes on, my first instinct is to find somewhere to hide - go in a corner, duck behind a rack, run into a dressing room, find the nearest restroom, like, just get out of there. It's a Pavlovian response, and I think it's time for me to get over it. But for some reason, it just triggers inside of me. It's a great song, but it's nowhere near my iPod."

James and wife Kimberly Brook welcomed son Joshua in March, although he insists the choice of moniker had nothing to with with his Dawson's Creek costar Joshua Jackson: "It would have been cute, but no, it's something I did not even think about. It's a great name."

More to Love

(Make sure to check out TV Envy’s Programming Schedule.)

MONDAY (7/27)
  • The Secret Life of the American Teenager (ABC Family, 8pm):  “Amy is jealous when she realizes Ben is going on a summer road trip, while she has to continue working and going to school.” I think her previous summer was eventful enough.
  • The Bachelorette (ABC, 8pm):  Season finale. “Jillian’s choice is down to Ed or Kiptyn in the season finale, taped or Hawaii’s Big Island, where she has outdoor dates with the two, who are also grilled by her family.” Let’s be real: A name like Kiptyn should never be paired with a name like Jillian.
  • Making His Band (MTV, 10pm):  Series premiere. “ begins his search for talented singers and musicians to back him up on an upcoming tour.” Behind every weak singer is a strong support system.
  • Dating in the Dark (ABC, 10pm):  “The singles look in their dates’ luggage before spending time with them in the darkroom.” It would be nice to know if anyone was packing heat before the lights went off.

Casting News: James Van Der Beek, Scott Wolf

Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, ABC,

Scott WolfScott Wolf, right off the cancellation of The Nine has been cast as the lead in an ABC comedy. Yep, comedy. The Party of Five star has signed on to play a lawyer in an untitled series. He will be the leader of a litigation team. I look forward to seeing what his dimples bring to the show.

In other casting news, James Van Der Beek will be joining ABC’s Football Wives. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Van Der Beek, and no doubt his experience in the film Varsity Blues will give him a leg up. The drama will take a look a the lives of women who marry NFL players. Van Der Beek will play a rookie. The wives will be played by Kiele Sanchez, Lucy Lawless and Gabrielle Union.
