Hayden Panettiere Won’t Return for ‘Heroes: Reborn’

Hayden Panettiere was "shocked" to find out about the new Heroes series.
The 24-year-old actress - who played teen cheerleader Claire Bennet from 2006-2010 in the original show - has not been asked to join the recently-announced miniseries Heroes: Reborn and only found out about the project from a family member.
"It was a shock to me. In fact, I believe I became privy to that through my cousin. She sent me a text message and told me about it. I mean, we had nothing, nothing to do with it. It will definitely be interesting to see how they reinvent that."
The Nashville actress - who is engaged to boxer Wladimir Klitschko - has mixed feelings about the new show, and hopes not to see anyone taking over the role of Claire: "It's a little bit of an interesting feeling because you go, 'That was our show, our home, our family,' something that we had a major part in creating. I mean, I hope that they don't have somebody else playing our characters, hat would be a little dagger in the heart. But, you never know. I wish them success in it, for sure."

Milo Ventimiglia Cuts His Hair, Upsets Fans
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, NBC, Heroes, Gossip, News,
Milo Ventimiglia has come under fire for cutting his hair.
His latest cropped-style is a big departure from his usual floppy look and the Heroes star admits some of his fans have been upset about his change of appearance.
“Some fans seem to hate it but I needed to grow up. I have had fans come up to me demanding to know what I have done with my hair.”
The 32-year-old actor - who previously dated his Heroes co-star Hayden Panettiere - also revealed he is now too old to play teenage roles so needed to change his looks in order to get offered more roles.
“I think there was a moment where my Heroes character Peter Petrelli needed to step out of the lost little boy kind of innocent persona. It also coincided at a point in my life where I can’t play these young teen roles anymore, but I still look young so I’m like what do I do? I’ll just pack on some weight and cut my hair. It helped.”

Could the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards be another year for firsts?
Around this same time last September, the execs of basic cable were thrilled to see one of their own finally win the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series (Mad Men). Meanwhile, producers of reality fare saw an award given to one of their hosts (Jeff Probst). So which other category could be covered during this round? Animation.
For the first time since 1961 (when The Flintstones were still on air), an animated program has been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series. So will Family Guy finally go where The Simpsons has never gone before? Not if the six other contenders have anything to say about it!
So who won? Who lost? Which funnyman took home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor since Jeremy Piven wasn’t even nominated? Read our West Coast play-by-play account of this evening’s telecast and find out!

Hayden Panettiere and Masi Oka Talk Heroes Season 4
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Action, Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, NBC, Heroes, Gossip, News, Rumors, Spoilers, Video,
Heroes favorites Masi Oka and Hayden Panettiere took some time out to talk about the upcoming season, specifically what’s going on with Hiro and Claire’s new college roommate.
Last we saw our favorite Japanese villain-fighter extraordinaire, he wasn’t faring too well with fighting off a sickness he acquired. Oka elaborated on his character’s hardship:
“Hiro let someone into his world. The first time he stopped time while touching someone—in that case, it was Ando—that was first time he froze time with someone else in that freeze-time world. That was started the adverse effect in Hiro’s brain. The power is meant to have a capacity of one. When you start adding Ando, Suresh, and other people into that world, it just a strain that’s put on Hiro’s brain.”
Oka also revealed that the dynamic between Ando and Hiro changes when Ando marries Hiro’s sister and harnesses his powers, “It always changes, but once Ando got his powers, it was more equal footing. It wasn’t more of a Batman and Robin; it became more of a Batman and Superman. There’s something to be said to be said about the familiarity of the characters and what the audience wants and expects, but we want the characters to grow.”

2009 Golden Globe Awards
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Prime Time, Cable, HBO, NBC, News,
One year after a strike-induced absence, the drinking resumed. Although the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards drew its usual set of followers tonight, this year’s program carried even more significance than usual. The reason? Heath Ledger.
With or without the Dark Knight nomination, the ceremony would have been interesting. Was this going to be the year a film about an Indian game show (Slumdog Millionaire) won top prize? Would either Meryl Streep (Mamma Mia, Doubt) or Kate Winslet (Revolutionary Road, The Reader) walk away with two awards? Could Mickey Rourke‘s comeback performance in The Wrestler earn him a surprise win over Sean Penn (Milk)?
To find out the answer to these questions (and many more), you can read our detailed coverage after the jump!

The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Cable, FX, HBO, Entourage, Editorial, Features,
Even though the previous television season was marred by the annoying writers’ strike, I find myself really excited for the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards. Not only will this ceremony give us a chance to start anew, it’ll be the academy’s chance to celebrate what’s new.
Tonight, two basic cable shows (Damages, Mad Men) will get a chance to win for Outstanding Drama Series. (That would be an Emmy first.) Meanwhile, nominees in several categories will have an opportunity to compete in a Sopranos-less environment. An added bonus? A new category. This year, reality show hosts will finally be acknowledged for their programming contributions as well.
So who won? Who lost? Who ran up and grabbed the award even though they didn’t win? Read our West Coast play-by-play account of this evening’s telecast and find out!

Three Cheers for Hayden Panettiere
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: NBC, Heroes, Gossip,
Though she’s known today for her role on NBC’s Heroes, Hayden Panettiere first captured attention as a cute cheerleader in the Bring It On franchise. (Stars Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union are also associated with the cheer-full movies.) Now, she’s potentially starring in the movie adaptation of I Love You, Beth Cooper…but she’ll still play a cheerleader.
This 20th Century Fox film already has a director for the project, but now it needs a star. If talks go well, Panettiere will be in full cheer uniform and star in the title role, the High School girl every boy wants but one nerd manages to win. Fellow student and Beth-obsessed Dennis Cooverman makes her the subject of his graduation speech, and the two embark upon a tale of touching teen romance.

Hayden Panettiere: Japan’s Most Wanted
Posted by David Onda Categories: Heroes, Gossip, News,
She saved the whales. But who will save the cheerleader? Heroes star Hayden Panettiere told E! News on Thursday that she’s in hot water with Japanese officials after she hung ten with a group of animal activists last month. Panettiere joined the activist group in disrupting a Japanese whale hunt - and now they’re pissed. “I learned today that I have an arrest warrant out for me in Japan because of what I did for Save the Whales,” Panettiere told E! News. The world is now a safer place for humpbacks, but apparently not so much for cute blonde TV stars.
