Jesse L. Martin Turns In His Law & Order Badge
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, NBC, News,
After 18 years on air, NBC’s Law & Order franchise has grown accustom to casting changes. Now it appears the flagship series - and the viewers - will have to adjust to one more by season’s end.
Jesse L. Martin, who plays Detective Ed Green, will reportedly be saying goodbye to the Dick Wolf family soon. The actor was originally paired with the great Jerry Orbach when he joined the cast back in 1999. In his nine seasons on the show, he has also been assigned to Dennis Farina and recent addition Jeremy Sisto. (I wonder if Sisto should feel slighted by his new partner’s early exit.)
Anthony Anderson, who most recently honed his officer chops on the already-forgotten K-Ville, is in line to fill Martin’s shoes. Although it’s not clear how Det. Green will vacate his position (Will he be killed? Will he also go into the Witness Protection Program?), his departure will happen before the season’s finale. That’s around the same time Anderson is expected to make his entrance.
Martin is next scheduled to portray singer Marvin Gaye in Sexual Healing. That film is currently in pre-production.

MONDAY (12/3)
- The Closer (TNT, 8pm): The special two-hour holiday episode brings Brenda’s parents into the investigative fold. Nothing says Christmas like talking blood with your blood.
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): (NOTE: This is the last new episode left.) ‘Peter squares off against former friends thanks to Adam’s confusing story about the Shanti virus.’ He shouldn’t fault Adam; the confusing storyline is to blame.
- K-Ville (FOX, 9pm): ‘Boulet and Cobb investigate an insurance adjuster’s murder.’ As if there weren’t enough people in New Orleans with a motive.
- Life (NBC, 10pm): (First half of the two-parter; 2nd half airs Wednesday). ‘Evidence points to Reese’s father in the murders that sent Crews to prison.’ I’m guessing this won’t be resolved anytime soon…otherwise, we wouldn’t have a show.

Assessing (and Ignoring) the New Fall Season
Posted by David L. Williams Categories: Comedy, Daytime, Drama, Kids, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Editorial,
As I type this, I’m listening to the new Radiohead album, In Rainbows, and I’m in a terrifically good mood. See, I love Radiohead like Tyra Banks loves … well, Tyra Banks, and so you would think that this good mood would make me put together a list of wonderful things about the new fall TV season.
Yeah, not so much. To be honest, I haven’t watched a lot of the new fall network TV shows. But it’s worthwhile to take a look at these shows and for me to say what I watched, what I thought, and why I didn’t watch a lot of them. Well, it’s worthwhile for me anyway. Plus it goes well with Radiohead (not really, but it’s not like I’m gonna stop listening). Here goes:
