Thursday Ratings: ER Fans Welcome Back Mark Greene

Viewers in the mood to reminisce returned to ER last night. The appearance of Anthony Edwards gave a nice boost to the closing series - and network - yesterday. Unfortunately, the ratings bump wasn’t enough to overtake CBS in either the viewers or demos this Thursday. 8pm Survivor: Gabon (13 million, 4.1/11 in 18-49) added on 800,000. Ugly Betty (9.2 million, 2.8/7) picked up another 200,000. My Name is Earl (7 million, 2.8/8) improved by 400,000; …

(You can view TV Envy’s Fall Television Programming Schedule here.)  MONDAY (11/10) Chuck (NBC, 8pm):  “Chuck chances upon his ex-flame (Jordana Brewster) and embellishes his status in life to impress her.” We’re talking about a girl who starred in D.E.B.S.. He shouldn’t try too hard. Prison Break (FOX, 9pm):  “Gretchen gives Michael the rest of the bird book, but he suffers another seizure after deciphering it.” That pretty much sums up my feelings about bird …

Thursday Ratings: CBS Takes Another One

Improved numbers for the network’s lineup - including an impressive demo performance from Grey’s - just wasn’t enough for ABC. For the fifth straight time, CBS was Thursday’s highest-rated network. 8pm Survivor: Gabon (12.2 million, 3.8/10 in 18-49) sent 900,000 home. Ugly Betty (9 million, 2.7/7) drew in another 400,000. My Name is Earl (6.6 million, 2.6/7) added on 400,000 more; Kath & Kim (5.6 million, 2.4/6) was up a notch. Smallville (4.8 million, 2.0/5) hit …

Thursday Ratings: 30 Rock Gets Post-Palin Bump

Politics has been kind to ratings-starved shows lately. On Wednesday, Pushing Daisies received a nice bump thanks to Obama’s primetime ad. Now 30 Rock has Tina Fey’s recent popularity to thank. Last night, the NBC comedy saw its highest numbers ever. But a minor ratings boost wasn’t enough to help NBC. By night’s end, CBS was still on top in both the viewers and the demos. 8pm Survivor: Gabon (13.1 million, 4.1/12 in 18-49) was off …

This Week on TV (10/27-11/2)

(You can view TV Envy’s Fall Television Programming Schedule here.)  MONDAY (10/27) Heroes (NBC, 9pm):  “Angela asks Sylar to save Peter.” As if anyone believes that Peter - or anyone else - would really die at this point. Jon & Kate Plus 8 (TLC, 9pm):  “The Gosselins get ready for a trip to Hawaii, where Jon and Kate will renew their wedding vows.” This time around, they’ll be paying to feed 8 more guests. One …

Thursday Ratings: CSI Outscores Baseball

Apparently a World Series just isn’t a World Series if the two teams aren’t names people care about. Although the numbers weren’t horrible, the ratings for Game 2 fell behind several Thursday programs. By night’s end, CBS was on top again in both categories. 8pm Survivor: Gabon (13.4 million, 4.4/12 in 18-49) picked up 500,000. Approximately 12.8 million watched Game 2 of the World Series (8.1/13). Lindsay Lohan helped Ugly Betty (8.7 million, 2.8/8) round up …

Thursday Ratings: Life on Mars Goes from Best to Third

Despite having the best debut for any new drama last week, ABC saw no Life on Mars yesterday. The freshman series dropped 27% in the demos and placed third in its hour. Meanwhile, Eleventh Hour actually showed improvement and helped CBS maintain its dominance over Thursdays. 8pm Survivor: Gabon (12.9 million, 4.2/2 in 18-49) had 400,000 torches snuffed. Ugly Betty (8.2 million,  2.6/8) downsized by 300,000. My Name is Earl (6.5 million, 2.6/8) slipped by 600,000; …

Thursday Ratings: ABC Sees Life on Mars

Despite lower numbers for Grey’s and Ugly Betty, Life on Mars’ premiere saw nice numbers yesterday. Ugly Betty (8.5 million, 2.6/7) was down slightly. My Name is Earl (7.1 million, 2.7/8) was up a notch; Kath & Kim‘s debut (3.2/9) pulled in 7.5 million. Approximately …

Thursday Ratings: Premieres Down All Around

Despite all the built up excitement for last night’s premieres, the numbers were down across the board. In the end, a two-hour Grey’s Anatomy (down 17% from this time last year) helped ABC win the viewers and the demos. 8pm Approximately 12.9 million saw the premiere of Survivor: Gabon (4.5/11 in18-49) in HD. Ugly Betty (9.8 million, 3.3/9) was down 15% from last fall. My Name is Earl (6.4 million, 2.7/8) dove 29%. The first hour …
