Bleeding Edge TV 556: TiVo Bolt movie theater prank

TiVo just pranked a movie theater full of people in order to show off its new TiVo Bolt DVR! I flew down to Boulder, CO to be a part of the #TiVoSurprise event, where people were invited to see a screening of the James Bond 007: Spectre movie at the local Cinebarre. Near the end of the movie, commercial interruptions started happening, and people grew more and more upset at each one, with metal popcorn bowls and glass bottles getting thrown at the screen! Finally, TiVo came out and revealed the prank, and as a reward for hanging in there, everyone in the theater went home with a free TiVo Bolt with a one-year subscription included. It was very cool, and very funny to witness. Check it out in the video, and feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments!

You can pick up the TiVo Bolt now!

Adele Thought That Elton John Was a Prank Caller

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Features,

AdeleAdele mistook Elton John for a prank caller and refused to talk to him.

The 21 singer said she received a call from the "Rocket Man" singer before she was due to attend the Grammy Awards ceremony this year where she won in six categories. She, however, thought that the 65-year-old star was someone else playing a joke on her.

"I had no idea who it was and he just started chatting away to me and I passed the phone over to a friend and I was like, 'Yeah, it's Elton.' It still cracks me up. It made me think my God, it's another level now."

Meanwhile the 24-year-old star has revealed that she would be "mortified" if any of her ex-boyfriends wrote songs about her. The "Rolling in the Deep" singer said she would panic if one of her former partners publicly revealed details of their relationship: "I'd f****** s*** myself. I'd be mortified. But also if they wrote songs about me, they'd be: 'This song's about Adele.' I've never given any names ever, but everyone's going to know this song's about me. No-one actually knows who my songs are about."

Late Show Writer: Letterman Participated in Joaquin Phoenix Hoax

Joaquin Phoenix on David Letterman

For a lot of people, Casey Affleck finally admitting that Joaquin Phoenix had been playing a joke was just as surprising as a Lindsay Lohan relapse. But would you be shocked to know that David Letterman was supposedly in on it?

Although Affleck, the director of the “documentary” I’m Still There, recently claimed Letterman was unaware of Phoenix’s “terrific performance,” a Late Show writer tells an entirely different story.

Treat Your Inner Jerk to the TV Poltergeist

Tv Poltergeist

Want to piss off your friends with more than just your abrasive personality and obnoxious hygiene habits or complete lack thereof?  Yes, it is rude to clip your toenails in someone else’s living room, genius; what are you, five?  If you feel the need to step up your toxicity—to neutron bomb your friendships, poisoning the landscape for decades to come and leaving behind a barren landscape of people hating the very mention of your name in your wake—then look no further: the TV Poltergeist is the gadget for you.  The TV Poltergeist is a battery-powered and easily hide-able palm-sized piece of hardware with a tiny, flexible LED that you can point towards the TV of your intended victim.  Once you turn it on the TVP will randomly emit a signal via the LED and shut your future ex-friend’s TV off.  Works on just about any TV—CRT, Plasma, LCD—just not your Gramma’s 30 year-old knob-operated Zenith, though if you pull this stunt on your Gramma a) you’re an a$$ and b) expect to get written out of the will and hit with a cane.  That woman lived through 5 wars and walked 40 miles to kindergarten everyday.  Show some respect!

Eminem “Laughed Uncontrollably” After Bruno Stunt

Bruno Flying at the MTV Movie Awards

If there’s anything we’ve learned from this weekend, it’s this: Eminem’s performance in 8 Mile was no fluke. The rapper’s also a very good actor.

Three days after getting butt-to-face time with Bruno (a.k.a. Sacha Baron Cohen), the man who was held hostage in his chair finally speaks out.

In an interview with Rap Radar, Slim Shady says he couldn’t have been more pleased with how the planned stunt played out. “I’m thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it. It had so many people going ‘nuts’ so to speak. Everyone was blowing me up about it,” he said.

Those Japanese Pranksters…

Posted by Monica Edwards Categories: Humor,

I came across these videos on YouTube while pa-rousing the latest in the "pranks" category. Almost peed my pants, they were so funny. You have to have a looksy and share with anyone having a bad day, they will surely be thankful that we live in the great ol' U.S. of A. 'cuz I kid you not, if we tried to pull off any of these stunts, we would be forced to wear a scarlet "P" across our chests pointing out the sick perversion in our minds, then have to share a cell with someone named Tank because we being U. S. Citizens, would have crossed that fine line between hilarity and a right to privacy. So thank goodness for these Japanese pranksters willing to go to any length for a good ol' hearty laugh. Have a gander above and two more after the break to get those giggles flowing.
