V-Moda customer service responds
Posted by Sparky Categories: Accessories, Cell Phones, Music, Portable Audio / Video
Mere hours after the post regarding V-Moda’s horrible customer service, they got back to me with status on the warranty and the news that they would be shipping replacement Duos right away. The communication did not mention if the previous article had any influence on their response, but the timing certainly is suspicious. The note included an apology stating that they had moved offices which had caused delays. While finally getting contact is nice V-Moda’s inability …

Vibe Duo review followup (or V-Moda customer service sucks)
Posted by Sparky Categories: Accessories, Cell Phones, Music, Portable Audio / Video
Previously, we’ve raved about the iPhone Vibe Duo headset/earbuds and the 2nd generation Duos with the answer/hangup button. Unfortunately at this time I’m are dismayed to report that I can no longer so highly recommend the Vibe Duos or any other product manufactured by V-Moda.

Posted by Sparky Categories: Design, Features, PC / Laptop, Product Reviews
Amidst a flurry of small and seemingly underpowered netbooks, HP has taken a slightly different tact in their release of the surprisingly capable HP Mini-Note device. While its up-to-$850 price tag places it in a significantly different category than the Eee PC and other cheap sub-notebooks, it easily makes up for this price difference with functionality and power approaching that of its larger siblings: …

The Big Skinny Wallet review
Posted by Sparky Categories: Accessories, Wearables, Misc. Tech, Product Reviews
While overly-thick wallets are not an oft discussed problem in our modern world, having a big fat wad of a wallet in your pocket can lead to back strain and unsightly bulging of the pants. The folks over at Big Skinny have an ingenious (although blindingly obvious) solution: a line of thin, lightweight wallets.
We got our hands on two of their most popular models and …

Windows Mobile 7 leaked: Microsoft’s mobile savior?
Posted by Sparky Categories: Cell Phones, CES, CES 2008, Design, Handhelds, Portable Audio / Video
The Inside Microsoft blog has scored an exclusive first look at Windows Mobile 7, and boy is it hot. Taking some user interface cues from the iPhone as well as throwing some truely unique and possibly revolutionary ideas the whole package looks slick, usable, and very much ‘the future’. The OS features a multi-touch interface similar to the Microsoft Surface table, and additionally features gesture …
