Apple has introduced the first desktop computer with a built-in 5K display in the iMac with Retina 5K display, and we are opening one up in this episode! The 5K Retina display is packed with 14.7 million pixels, with a resolution of 5120 x 2880. Yes, that is insane, and gives a lot of screen real estate and leeway to work on dense projects, like video editing and photo editing.

In this episode we bring you an unboxing of the Apple iMac 27-inch 2011 model. The latest iMac offers a quad-core Intel Core i5 processor and ships with 4 GB RAM by default. This model also packs two Thunderbolt ports, the new high speed I/O port from Intel, and is therefore the first iMac that allows you to connect two external displays. When Apple introduced the latest generation of iMac to the world, and made it known that they were able to get that LED-backlit display up to 27-inches, we knew it would not only be a gorgeous machine, but it would pretty much be right up there with a low-end Mac Pro if specced out right. We immediately picked up one of the new 27-inch iMacs to put out theory to the test, but in the meantime, we’ve got an unboxing video for you that shows off the ridiculously huge Mac, as well as the little design tweaks and changes that Apple has made to the iMac line since the previous generation.
