Men in Trees

(You can find our Post-Strike Television Schedule here.)

MONDAY (2/25)
  • A Raisin in the Sun (ABC, 8pm):  and the rest of his Broadway cast bring the play to the small screen.  I’m sorry - I believe his theater name is Sean Combs.
  • The Moment of Truth (FOX, 8pm):  Special night.  Apparently this episode is so controversial, the producers debated airing it.  Then they realized what network they were on and just went with it.
  • Welcome to the Captain (CBS, 8:30):  “Hope makes some new friends so she won’t be alone on Friday nights.” Their names?  Jack and Daniels.
  • Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (CW, 9pm):  “The women receive a surprise visit from JC Chasez.”  They, too, are wondering why he doesn’t have anything better to do.

Post-Strike Television Schedule

Now that we have come to the end of the , it’s time to once again update our television programming schedules.

Mid-season replacements have had seen their debuts shuffled (e.g. New Amsterdam), some programs are coming back with new episodes (e.g. Scrubs, 30 Rock) while other shows aren’t slated to return until next year (Pushing Daisies).

Here you can find a

compilation of the 2008 post-strike schedules

for the five major networks.  I would highly recommend printing this out since there are major changes across the board.

Two notes:

  1. This is the updated schedule as of May 6.  Be prepared to see more changes and settling in the weeks to come.
  2. The list consists of premieres and dates for new episodes.
  3. If a particular time slot/network is not mentioned, either nothing has changed or no specific announcement has been made yet.

This Week on TV (2/18-2/24)

America's Next Top Model

MONDAY (2/18)
  • Prison Break (FOX, 8pm):  Tonight may be the end of the show as we currently know it.  Maybe Michael can finally let go of that steely gaze now.
  • Dance War (ABC, 8pm):  The next contenders will be announced during the spinoff’s season finale.  Finally, a reason for me to watch.
  • Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (CW, 9pm):  Robin Antin is searching for a gal to complete an entirely different musical act.  With Danity Kane already taken, she had to settle for the 2nd crappiest group name available.
  • My Dad is Better Than Your Dad (NBC, 9pm):  “This competition series features fathers and their children in challenges that test the patriarch’s strength, intelligence and parenting skills.”  Since when did NBC start stealing ideas from ?

Top 5 Least Romantic Reality TV Shows

Posted by Jacci Lewis Categories: Reality, ABC, BBC, FOX, Editorial,

Every year at about this time some clever person comes up with a ‘Top 5 or 10 Most Romantic Movies’ list. In honor of the (which has stiffed us with an inordinate amount of reality shows in place of quality TV) and for all the people who really can’t stand Valentine’s Day… how about the ‘Top 5 Least Romantic Reality Shows’?

Quick note: there is no scientific basis for this list. It is simply a collection of shows that couldn’t possibly inspire amorous feelings after watching them.

How Clean Is Your House

  1. How Clean Is Your House? (BBC): Post-menopausal British women expose extreme slobs by doing stuff like sniffing pet stool and urine stains in the ratty carpet of unkempt homes. Enough said.
  2. Wife Swap (ABC):Two diametrically opposed women switch lives by making a stranger’s family just as miserable as their own. Are there any other stereotypes of women out there besides the doormat mom or self-absorbed shrew?
  3. Cops (FOX): Wife beaters, crack whores, sloppy drunks and meth heads. It’s a how-to manual for singles on who not to get involved with.
  4. Bridezillas (WE): They’re spoiled, demanding and borderline delusional women yet somehow they’ve convinced some poor slob to marry them and be grateful for it.
  5. Jon & Kate+8 (Discovery Health): Super nice people, terrifying number of children under the age of 8. It’s video birth control.

**Live coverage of the State of the Union Address (9 PM Eastern) will alter many schedules.  Double-check your local listings for times.**

  • Dance War (ABC, 8pm):  “One contestant from the losing team is ousted after the first round of competition.”  Those remaining will learn ‘I’m Still Standing’ routine.
  • Gossip Girl (CW, 8pm):  Pilot repeat.  Late-comers can finally learn why is this season’s guiltiest pleasure.  (And when I say ‘gossip’, I mean the show, of course.)
  • In Treatment (HBO, 9:30:  Series premiere.  New therapy drama airs 5x a week with a different patient every night.  Apparently can’t handle them all at once like the masterful Dr. Drew.
