• Gossip Girl (CW, 9pm):  “Chuck must make a tough choice concerning his hotel.” Unless he passes “Go” again soon, he’s gonna have to mortgage the property.
• Kell on Earth (Bravo, 10pm):  “People’s Revolution feels the sting of a weak economy, so Kelly renfrots out her office space to net more income.” If things don’t get better, she might even allow a few Jersey Shore stars to pretend they work there.
• Greek (ABC Family, 10pm):  “Calvin and Grant quarrel over their spring-break plans.” Calvin doesn’t think it’s a safe time to go to Mexico; Grant thinks the media is overhyping the violence.

Thursday Ratings: NBC Showered with Good News

Hey NBC - primetime might actually survive in the post-Jay Leno world after all. Last night’s arrival of Jim and Pam’s baby on The Office delivered something the network hadn’t seen before, a victory over Grey’s Anatomy in the demos. That one-hour special lead into another nice win for the network. The Marriage Ref‘s time slot debut also defeated the competition in the 18-49s.

8pm

• American Idol (19.3 million, 6.5/19 in 18-49) still had the best numbers of the evening.
• Survivor (12.7 million, 3.8/11) picked up 1.2 million more.
• Community (2.3/7) kicked off the night with 5.1 million.
• A Grey’s Anatomy* repeat (1.2/3) turned in 5 million.
• Parks and Recreation (4.6 million, 2.3/6) lost part of its lead-in.
• The Vampire Diaries* (0.7/2) checked in 1.7 million.

Thursday Ratings: Olympics Coverage Skates to Victory

American Idol‘s first results show of the season wasn’t strong enough to compete with the action in Vancouver. Coverage of the women’s figure skating finals helped NBC defeat FOX in the viewers and demos once again.

8pm

• The Olympic Games (22.5 million, 5.8/16 in 18-49) fell 2.8 million from last Thursday.
• Approximately 17.8 million watched the first four eliminations on American Idol (6.4/17).
• Survivor (11.5 million, 3.7/10) only lost 400,000.
• The Deep End (1.1/3) ended its run with 3.9 million.
• The Vampire Diaries* (1.7 milion, 0.7/2) remained steady.

Thursday Ratings: Survivor a Hero for CBS

Did you see the moment when Sugar ran topless down the beach on Survivor? If you didn’t, you were one of the few. The two-hour premiere of the Heroes vs. Villains edition attracted 14.1 million fans and helped put a ding into Grey’s Anatomy‘s numbers.

8pm

• Approximately 14.1 million watched the two-hour debut of Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains (4.5/12 in 18-49).
• Bones* (2.1/6) dug up 8.1 million.
• The Deep End (5.7 million, 1.5/4) picked up 600,000 more.
• Community (5.2 million, 2.3/7) remained steady.
• Parks and Recreation (5 million, 2.3/6) was up a tick.
• The Vampire Diaries (3.6 million, 1.5/4) lost 400,000.

Now that we’ve made halfway through the television season, it’s time to readjust our DVRs once again.

Midseason staples returning to the airwaves include American Idol, 24 and Lost. Meanwhile, a number of new programs - including Human Target, Parenthood and The Marriage Ref - will vie for our attention.

Hopefully our detailed guide can assist you in the weeks to come.  We have compiled information from the five major networks and included the days, times and premiere dates for this season’s programs.
