No Spinoff for Gossip Girl

Who would have thought that Gossip Girl would be the subject of an erroneous rumor?
Yesterday, reports were spreading around the internet about a possible new drama for the CW. According to the buzz, Josh Schwartz’s show was already prepping itself for a spinoff. If you believed the word on the street, Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) was the golden girl bound to her own gig.
Those who follow the GG books know Humphrey eventually winds up in a whole new series called The It Girl. Her character at some point elects to go to a new boarding school after a string of socially embarrassing moments.
But given Gossip Girl‘s own struggle to find an audience, I personally thought this decision to branch off seemed a bit hasty…and it turns out I wasn’t the only one.
