Jayma Mays: ‘Glee’ Departure Wasn’t My Choice

Jayma Mays says it wasn't her choice to leave Glee.
The redheaded beauty announced her departure from the long-running musical comedy earlier this year, but has now admitted the show's creators decided to write out her beloved character Emma Pillsbury: "It wasn't my choice. The creators decided to do it. We knew it was coming last year. Some other characters will also be leaving this season. It's very sad to be going, but I understand why they do it. It's about getting new blood into the show. I really enjoyed playing Emma. I don't know how I'm written out yet. I'm so curious."
Jayma recently appeared in Glee's emotional tribute to late leading actor Cory Monteith - who died from an overdose of heroin and alcohol in July - and she recalls the emotional atmosphere on set while making the episode. "It's been really hard. We just filmed his memorial episode and it was a very difficult thing to do. Just being there, you felt the absence of a friend and co-worker. It's been a very sad and difficult year for everyone," she explained.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers: I Look Like a Bad Guy

Jonathan Rhys Meyers thinks he looks like a bad guy.
The Dracula star, who has been to rehab three times for alcohol addiction, is always looking for "some sort of balance" in his life, but believes his inner conflict makes him a better actor.
"I'm cast as a bad guy because I look like one. And I can convey that sense of conflict because I'm a guy who lives with conflict a lot of the time. It's not something that I have to search for - that sense of looking for some sort of peace, looking for some sort of balance. It's evident in me regardless of what I do, so maybe it just suits the parameters of Dracula," the 36-year-old star said.
The Irish actor has had a tough time over the past 12 months since signing on to star in the new TV series, which is produced by both NBC and Sky: "I've gone to two funerals. My grandfather and my best friend passed away during this production. So I went back and put them to rest. I don't get many breaks."

Selena Gomez Misses Her Disney Days

Selena Gomez wishes she was still a Disney star.
The 21-year-old star singer-and-actress found fame on Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place - where she played young wizard Alex Russo - and misses her the years of teen acting as she makes a transformation into an adult star. "I miss it. I wish I was still a part of it. I think it was the perfect thing for me at the time I was 14," she said.
The brunette beauty insists she doesn't yet feel as though she has made the transition from teen star to adult artist. Despite starring in Spring Breakers, releasing her debut album Dance Stars and overhauling her style, Selena - who previously dated Justin Bieber - sometimes still feels like she's 15.
Being interviewed by JLS star Marvin Humes on UK TV show Lorraine, she said, "I think everybody has a journey and you feel you have to love at the end of the day. There is not really a formula. I don't really know if I have fully made the transition yet. I feel like half the time I feel like I'm 15 and then I feel like I'm 21 then I feel like I'm 30 when I'm sitting at home by myself on a Friday night watching the same episode of Friends."
‘Glee’ Creator Says Season 6 Will Be Its Last
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Music, Prime Time, FOX, News,
Glee will end after its sixth season, creator Ryan Murphy has announced. The writer says the next series of the musical TV show will be the last and he has revealed he had already penned the final scenes which would have featured Lea Michele and Cory Monteith - who were a couple in real life - playing on-screen lovers Rachel Berry and Finn Hudson.
Following Cory's sad death in July from a heroin and alcohol overdose, Ryan has had to re-think the focus of the final series Speaking at the Paley Center in Los Angeles at an event honoring the FX Network last night, Ryan said, "The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn's story. I always knew that, I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was, he was in it. I knew what the last line was, she said it to him."
Like everyone associated with Glee', Ryan is still in shock over Cory's death at the age of just 31 and he admits he's yet to come up with a new storyline for the final run: "When a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we're figuring that out now," said the 47 year-old showrunner.

Sinead O’Connor: Simon Cowell Has “Murdered” Music
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Late Night, Talk Shows, Gossip,

Sinead O'Connor holds Simon Cowell responsible for "murdering music."
The Irish singer appeared in an interview this week to address her ongoing feud with Miley Cyrus, but instead let rip at the music mogul and his flagship show The X Factor, blaming him for the death of rock 'n' roll and the exploitation of young female artists' sexuality . The war of words began earlier this week when Sinead warned Miley in an open letter about the dangers of the music industry and projecting an overly-sexual image, and the 20-year-old singer responded by lashing out on Twitter, mocking bipolar disease sufferer Sinead for her mental health issues.

Moffat Tries to Explain How All Peter Capaldis Exist in ‘Doctor Who’

While some fans were probably relieved that Doctor Who's team didn't cast an even younger regeneration for Twelve, many were skeptical of the explanation for casting Peter Capaldi, who has not only previously appeared in the show's fourth season episode "The Fires of Pompeii" but also in the series spin-off Torchwood (for more than one episode, might I add).
Showrunner Steven Moffat attempted to address this issue, claiming that it still follow's the show's mythos:
“We are aware that Peter Capaldi’s played a part in Doctor Who before and we’re not going to ignore the fact. I’ll let you in on this. I remember [previous showrunner] Russell [T. Davies] told me he had a big old plan as to why there were two Peter Capaldis in the Who universe, one in Pompeii and one in Torchwood. When I cast Peter, [Russell] got in touch to say how pleased he was, I said ‘Okay, what was your theory and does it still work?’ and he said ‘Yes it does, here it is.' So I don’t know if we’ll get to it… we’ll play that one out over time. It’s actually quite neat."

Simon Cowell: Britney Spears Couldn’t Criticize
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Daytime, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Talk Shows, NBC, Gossip,
Simon Cowell dropped Britney Spears from The X Factor because she wasn't outspoken enough.
The music mogul who is judging this year's singing contest alongside Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland - who was a judge on the UK X Factor in 2011 - and Paulina Rubio, fired Britney as she felt "uncomfortable" in the role.
Simon says the "Ooh La La" singer was unable to give honest, "negative" feedback to the pop hopefuls so he had to replace her. Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, he said, "I kind of booked someone who couldn't talk, which is a bit of a problem when you want someone to judge! She wasn't comfortable being negative, she didn't like it when the contestants spoke back to her, so she was just uncomfortable. I liked her. So we decided to change it this year and I thought I'll work with three girls because I like working with girls."

‘Glee’ Planning Cory Tribute Episode
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Music, Prime Time, FOX, Gossip, News,
Glee will film a tribute episode to Cory Monteith before taking a long hiatus.
The 31-year-old star - who played Finn Hudson in the show - was found dead last weekend following a heroin and alcohol overdose and creator Ryan Murphy has revealed the cast will film an episode dealing with Finn's death before taking a break to determine the future of Glee.
"We will begin shooting in late August the two shows we had already written, so that people can physically go back to work. We will then do an episode that will deal with the death of Finn's character and follow that with a long hiatus. I don't know exactly when we will come back, and we are trying out best with this attempt at damage control. We are planning a memorial for the cast and crew sometime this week on the Paramount lot," he told Deadline.
Meanwhile, Cory's father Joe has claimed his son's drug addiction was worse than "anybody knew." Speaking about Cory - who first entered rehab at the age of 19 before a second stint earlier this year following a relapse - Joe said, "I guess he was involved a little more in drugs than anybody knew at the time. His mother who was there with him all the time, she started picking up on it, you know stuff was missing, money here, stuff like that."
Kristen Bell’s ‘Veronica Mars’ Jitters
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, UPN, Features,
Kristen Bell had "jitters" on the first day of shooting the Veronica Mars movie.
The 33-year-old actress admitted she was nervous about reprising her role as the titular character in the big screen adaptation of the now defunct TV series. Speaking at the San Diego Comic-Con panel for the movie, she said, "It was a lot of excitement and a lot of unknown jitters."
Kristen also revealed her co-star Jason Dohring, who plays her love interest Logan Echolls, was equally nervous: "We kept staring at each other, like 'are we really here? Is this the Twilight Zone?"
Meanwhile, Enrico Colantoni insisted he found it easy to step back into the role of Keith Mars - Veronica's father - because he has a close relationship with Kristen, who recently gave birth to her first child with fiance Dax Shepard. "Kristen and I hang out at hockey games together. It's easy to look at her and have this paternal thing for her. Now, she's a mama. We have more to talk about," he said.
Ozzy Osbourne Hated Being on ‘The Osbournes’
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Reality, MTV, Features,
Ozzy Osbourne used to hate being on The Osbournes.
The Black Sabbath rocker claims he "never watched one f****ing episode" of his MTV reality show, which ran from 2002 to 2005 and followed his family's antics, from X-rated rows to his wife Sharon's battle with cancer. Now that he isn't being followed by cameras 24/7, Ozzy has vowed to never star on a TV show again and is refusing to make a cameo appearance on The X Factor UK when Sharon returns as a judge this autumn.
"That was a period of my career I'm glad is gone. Sharon's turned into this television person now. She's always saying, 'You're coming on the show, aren't you?' And I'm going, 'No! I hate doing TV!'" he said.
The 64-year-old musician has often spoken out against his wife's obsession with the showbiz lifestyle, claiming he has no interest in living his life in the limelight. "Sharon's obsessed with that showbiz lifestyle. But it's not for me. Leave me out of it. Sharon's always introducing me to people I don't know or want to meet. Sharon got a career out of [The Osbournes] but I'm not interested. I don't like showbiz," he said recently.
