Demi Lovato Exiting ‘X Factor’

Demi LovatoDemi Lovato is pulling a J.Lo.

The singer-actress is rumored to be leaving her judging stint at The X Factor after having served on the panel for two seasons alongside the likes of Britney Spears, Kelly Rowland, and Paulina Rubio. A source close to the former Disney star claims that she wants to focus on her music career (sound familiar?), adding, "She had a great run and a good time."

The move to quit the reality show may be wise considering her upcoming tour schedule, which runs from February to March 2014.

When asked last year why she remained on the judging panel for another season (as fellow panelists Britney Spears and L.A. Reid exited), Demi stated that she wanted to expand her fan base: "When you have the opportunity to be in front of America every single week several times a week, that's a very incredible opportunity, not only because your fans get to know you better, but… I was on the Disney Channel forever, and was waiting for that right job that would help me cross over to the mainstream world... I was not only in front of my fans every week, but I was also in front of adults. I never used to get recognized by adults, and now when I'm at the airport or the grocery store, the guy behind the register will be like, 'I love you on X Factor!'"

Mariah Carey: ‘American Idol’ Was Hell

Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, and Nicki Minaj

Mariah Carey hated being a judge on American Idol.

The "Art of Letting Go" hitmaker, who served on the show's judging panel for one season that ended six months ago, alongside Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban, has confessed it was like "going to work every day in hell with Satan":

"Honestly, I hated it. Here's what it was. I was the first person who signed on... I thought it was going to be a three-person panel. They gave me a nice... monetary moment, and I was just like, 'Okay, Randy Jackson will be there; I've known him forever. He used to play bass for me. Like, this isn't a big deal. This will be nothing.' But it wasn't that. It was like going to work every day in hell with Satan."

Simon Cowell to Leave ‘X Factor’?

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, Gossip, Ratings, Rumors,

Simon CowellSimon Cowell could be set to leave The X Factor.

The 54-year-old media mogul is a judge on the singing contest - which is his brainchild - however he could be planning to leave the show since it is pulling in fewer viewers than in previous years - with the live show on Tuesday night, attracting only 4.8 million viewers. The drop in numbers could force bosses to lower the budget on the series, meaning Simon will walk away and back onto the judging panel of the UK version of the talent show.

"People have talked as if it is all over for The X Factor, but that's not the case at all. It is true that ratings are down but it still does well with younger viewers if it was to come back next year it would have to have a lower budget. Simon leaving the show would allow a cheaper panel to be introduced - and give him the time to be reunited with the British show," an insider said.

The X Factor is currently in its third season with the winner awarded a $1 million recording contract with Simon's label Syco, however, in the previous two series' it was worth $5 million. Simon is currently on the judging panel alongside Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio, and he is mentoring the groups category.

Jessica Lange and Ryan MurphyJust as American Horror Story: Coven has gotten you hooked and incessantly wondering how it's possible that each season of the show gets better than its predecessor, Jessica Lange drops the disparaging news that she'll be bowing out of the hit FX show after next season.

“I’ll do one more season. That’ll be it,” the two-time Academy Award winner said.

Here's to hoping that co-creator Ryan Murphy is correct in recently stating, “Every year, [Jessica Lange] says, ‘OK, that’s my last one.’"

In the meantime, Lange is enjoying her stay in New Orleans, where production for the horror anthology - which airs Wednesday nights on FX - continues: "[New Orleans] has this extraordinary ability to live in the past and the present. Time kind of melds. I don’t know any other place like that."

Jayma Mays: ‘Glee’ Departure Wasn’t My Choice

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Music, Prime Time, FOX, Features, Gossip,

Jayma MaysJayma Mays says it wasn't her choice to leave Glee.

The redheaded beauty announced her departure from the long-running musical comedy earlier this year, but has now admitted the show's creators decided to write out her beloved character Emma Pillsbury: "It wasn't my choice. The creators decided to do it. We knew it was coming last year. Some other characters will also be leaving this season. It's very sad to be going, but I understand why they do it. It's about getting new blood into the show. I really enjoyed playing Emma. I don't know how I'm written out yet. I'm so curious."

Jayma recently appeared in Glee's emotional tribute to late leading actor Cory Monteith - who died from an overdose of heroin and alcohol in July - and she recalls the emotional atmosphere on set while making the episode. "It's been really hard. We just filmed his memorial episode and it was a very difficult thing to do. Just being there, you felt the absence of a friend and co-worker. It's been a very sad and difficult year for everyone," she explained.
