MTV Hills Crew Terrorizes Hollywood Residents

No peace and quiet in Hollywood!

MTV cannot simply settle for irking television viewers like myself with their silly reality shows. They apparently have to frustrate poor Hollywood resident civilians, too.

Filming their prized “reality” stint, The Hills cast and crew have wreaked havoc among their Hollywood neighbors.

As if the unwanted paparazzi crews are not enough of a nuisance, the filming crew apparently takes up most of the street with their equipment trucks, leaving bright lights shining on the house until late at night when the socialites are not even home!

Not surprisingly, despite these and many more claims, an MTV spokesperson defends the production: “MTV is in accordance with all required production permits, and is working with the city of Los Angeles to assist it with neighborhood concerns that have been raised.”

They sure are good liars over there at MTV.

Janet Jackson Seeks Her Replacement on MTV

Janet Jackson gets her own reality showReality TV producers over at MTV have apparently lured pop icon Janet Jackson into developing yet another American Idol-esque series.

“It’s really about finding who’s the next Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake or Usher,” executive producer David Broome explains; however, I am a bit unsure as to why we would need to find the next Janet, Justin, or Usher when all three are still rather successful artists today. Perhaps a hint at Jackson’s fall from her pop star throne?

Either way you slice it, the upcoming MTV show sounds just like Making the Band to me.

Fearing blatant comparisons to its predecessors, Boome added, “We’ll find it from a pool of people who you wouldn’t typically find it from. We’ll go to YMCAs, church groups, local community centers and try to cast the show.”

Wow! A reality show with a heart? I doubt it.

Paris Hilton on Paris

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, MTV, Gossip,

Paris Hilton‘s new reality show (in it, she’ll be searching for a new best friend) has not yet hit the small screen, but fans can keep up on the progress through her MySpace blog.

That is, you can keep up with it if you can get around the glaring spelling and grammatical errors - delivered in a sort of stream-of-consciousness fashion. Yet, amazingly, the heiress has penned a best-selling book. Hilton reports that shooting her show is “quite the experience, these people are amazing!” She adds: “Everyone of the contestants is very special in there own way,” and says all are “having the best time.”

According to Hilton’s blog, she took “some of the contestants” with her to Japan and Las Vegas. She cautions, however, “not everything is all fun and games.” She talks of “brutal” challenges and the fact that she doesn’t like the eliminations.

Paris added a note on her personal life, and actually threw in a plug for boyfriend Benji Madden’s blog. The show, by the way, will be coming to MTV in September.

Brody Jenner Seeks Bromance

Brody Jenner is on the hunt for bromanceFans of MTV’s “reality show” The Hills have reason to rejoice this week.

The show’s star, Brody Jenner has just been given his own MTV show, titled Bromance, where he plans to invite male contestants who “will compete in various group and individual activities that will test their trust, reliability, and compatibility” with him.

Sounds a little too much like Paris Hilton’s upcoming show, no?

Jenner will also be working as the executive producer for show with none other than…

MONDAY (4/14)
  • Bones (FOX, 8pm):  New episode.  “When a motorcycle racer’s remains are discovered in a national park, Brennan and Booth hunt for his killer.”  I hear this is a great show.  I just wish Angel wasn’t flirting with a new woman.

The Hills

(You can view TV Envy’s Post-Strike Television Schedule here.)

MONDAY (3/24)
  • How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8:30):  The overly-promoted Britney Spears cameo finally airs tonight.  Let’s just be happy the show is only 30-minutes long.
  • Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (CW, 9pm):  Nicole Scherzinger gives the girls tips on vocal expression.  Sadly, advice on releasing solo albums is not something she can dish out.
  • CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm):  New episode.  “A bride is murdered at her wedding.  The investigation takes the CSIs to a strip club where the bachelor party took place.”  Strip club? This would be the perfect time for another Elizabeth Berkley appearance.
  • The Hills (MTV, 10pm):  Season premiere.  I wonder if LC wore any of her own designs in Paris.  Doubt it.

Choose or Lose the Democratic Candidates

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Specials, MTV, Gossip,

MTV Logo Veterans, , and the Associated Press will all get together on Thursday to have a “candid discussion” (MTV) about the ongoing war in Iraq with the democratic Presidential hopefuls. Scheduled to last only one hour, the special will take up considerably less time than a standard democratic debate, and will air at the abysmal time of 6 pm EST (when it’s almost certain only about twenty people will catch it). The broadcast will be shown on all MTV-named channels (too numerous to list) and will be streamed across almost two thousand Web sites.

The sit-down discussion with Senators and is part of the Choose or Lose effort, geared toward getting the 18 to 30 set to vote. The special will take place in Pennsylvania, where a primary will be held April 22. MTV research indicates that those aged from 18 to 24 are most concerned with Iraq, with 6 out of 10 in this group personally knowing at least one person who has actively served in the war.

The event is to be commercial-free, words which frighten me because I’m sure the product placement from MTV will be off the charts. was also invited to participate, but scheduling conflicts caused him to beg off.

Paris Hilton Asks: Will You Be My Best Friend?

Posted by Jacci Lewis Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, MTV, Gossip, News,

New Paris Hilton show has money, looks, street cred from spending time in the pokey and at least the illusion of perhaps somewhere deep down a shred of talent, but what she really needs is a friend…you perhaps?

Us Magazine says that’s the concept for Hilton’s next reality show. Sources, always unnamed of course, tell Us Paris is “tired of the haters and is looking for someone new. She’s looking for someone new and cool who she can trust.” I suspect the bigger question is can you trust her? Let’s hope she cares for her friends a bit better than her dogs or cell phones since she always seems to be losing both.

The project doesn’t have a title yet.  Us says it is expected to be picked up by or .
