VIDEO: Did FOX, ABC Ban Cleavage-Filled Commercial?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, ABC, FOX, American Idol, Commercials, Dancing With The Stars, Gossip, Rumors, Video,
Although the world should be used to seeing women parading around in their bras by now, there’s one thing Lane Bryant commercials have that Victoria’s Secret spots don’t: large breasts.
And when you have large breasts, you get lots of cleavage. And when you have lots of cleavage, you supposedly get banned by ABC and FOX.
According to Lane Bryant, a clothing company for full-figured women, both Victoria’s Secret-friendly networks rejected requests to air the ad. “It certainly appears to be discrimination against full-sized women,” one source told the New York Post. A Lane Bryant rep added. “There’s no difference other than they’re bigger girls.”
Needless to say, these accusations now have ABC and FOX both crying foul.

Two-Part South Park Wraps on an Uneven Note
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Animation, Comedy, Prime Time, Cable, Gossip, Video,
Update: Turns out I was wrong. Skip to the end to find out how.
Fans of South Park noticed a striking change in the second half of the “200/201” episode, which gained some attention from a radical Muslim website earlier this week. In the first half of the episode, which aired April 14, a battle developed over ownership of Mohammed. A group of celebrities including Tom Cruise, Rob Reiner, Oraph Winfrey and every other celeb who’s ever been depicted on the show battled a group of gingers who were previously featured in a South Park episode of their own. The two groups began warring over him because they wanted his power. In the episode, the show’s two hundredth, Mohammad was shown wearing a bear costume because his image cannot be depicted.

American Idol 9: Idol Gives Back, Top 7 Results
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Video,
At the top of the Idol Gives Back spectacular, host Ryan Seacrest immediately introduced the President of the United States and his First Lady, Mr. and Mrs. Barack Obama. Two praised the Idol Gives Back event and urged viewers to contribute to the cause. In his typical contemporary fashion, President Obama then gave a message to the Idol contestants: “As Randy Jackson says, you’re all my dogs.”
Ryan then reappeared on stage to introduce the judges and hype up the crowd. Queen Latifah served as the host of the event at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, which was filled with a screaming crowd.
The Top 12 were brought back together for the first group performance of the night, an incredibly weak number. The only big moment in the song was given (predictably) to Crystal Bowersox. Could this show please make it more obvious that they want her to win? I’m not sure the astronauts on the space shuttle have managed to get the message yet - they’re so far away, and all.

Gabourey Sidibe and Andy Samberg: Best SNL Promos Ever?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Commercials, Saturday Night Live, Video,
Okay - full disclosure time.
I. Love. Gabourey. Sidibe. I think the Precious star is the funniest woman to come around in a long time. I want to be her best friend. I think she can do no wrong.
That said, I don’t think I’m biased in saying these new Saturday Night Live promos are the best spots I’ve seen in quite some time…if not ever.
Am I the only one hoping she even tops Tina Fey‘s recent appearance?

Watch Kate Gosselin’s Final Tears on DWTS
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, ABC, Dancing With The Stars, Video,
While I’m sure this will not be the last time you see the self-admitted “crybaby” reduced to tears, I do believe this will be the last time you see Kate Gosselin crying while wearing a gown her kids might have ripped up.
As you watch her give her final goodbye on last night’s Dancing with the Stars, ask yourself this: What did you believe more - Kate’s disappointment about being let go or Tony Dovolani’s sweet speech?

Did Your DVR Cut Off Glee? See the Last Song Here
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Music, Prime Time, FOX, Video,
If you were relying on your DVR to record last night’s episode of Glee, you might have noticed one thing missing: the ending of your show.
Thanks to an overrun from American Idol (do we really need four judges talking??), “The Power of Madonna” episode got off to a late start. The clip above starts immediately after - POSSIBLE SPOILER AHEAD - Finn and Jesse St. James leave Rachel to talk about a Madonna song. (No - the random appearance of the choir is never explained.)
Click after the jump to hear a bonus track - Jonathan Groff (Jesse) singing “Burning Up” - that never made it into the show.
(NOTE: Entertainment Weekly is now reporting that FOX will repeat the same episode this Friday night at 9 pm/ET.)

American Idol 9: Top 7 Perform
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Features, Video,
It’s Idol Gives Back week, which means the Top 7 performance round was stuffed with plugs for the upcoming event. In honor of charity week, the Idols sang “inspirational songs,” a topic so broad we were pretty well guaranteed a grab bag of styles.
Casey James picked the imminently popular “Don’t Stop,” a bit of a dangerous decision, for the first performance of the night. Mentor Alicia Keys tried to help Casey find some personality within his performance, a quality she felt was essential for the popular tune. On the big stage, Casey James was more raspy than usual, full of energy and absolutely generic. His guitar solo was pretty hot, but he’s been relying on that crutch a bit too much. All the same, James delivers consistently solid performances that the crowd seems to enjoy. I don’t think he’ll do too poorly in the industry…when he’s finally let out of his Idol cage.
“It was a good performance,” Randy Jackson told him, though he grudgingly added “every week, we’re seeing the same thing.” He asked for James to deliver “something different,” a request he’s made in the past. “We’re getting to the point to where you have to be great…and it wasn’t great,” Ellen DeGeneres expanded on Randy’s theme. “You made yourself like everybody else tonight,” Kara DioGuardi likewise expressed her disappointment. “That wasn’t particularly inspiring,” Simon Cowell noted.

VIDEO: Jon Stewart’s Message to FOX News

| Bernie Goldberg Fires Back | ||||

The ongoing war between Bernie Goldberg, FOX News contributor and frequent guest on O’Reilly Factor, and Jon Stewart, late-night Comedy Central variety show host, just got hilarious…though there’s probably zero chance that FOX News will find it so. It all started, according to Stewart, when he told FOX News to “go [expletive deleted] themselves” on his April 19 installment of The Daily Show.
Goldberg fired back during one of his visits to O’Reilly (Papa Bear to Stephen Colbert fans), calling Jon Stewart a “funnyman” who only wants to crack jokes before an audience. “But if, clearly, you want to be a social commentator…you better find some guts,” Goldberg addressed his comments directly to Stewart.
On his April 20 show, Stewart had plenty to say in response to Bernie Goldberg - and by extension, everyone at FOX News.

Jane Lynch Cracks a Joke, Right-Wing Bloggers Freak Out
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, Gossip, Video,
Look out, Glee fans (and leftists), the extreme right wing media is having a shitfit.
The LA Times is bringing attention to a conservative website called Newsbusters, which recently went off after the new episode of Glee premiered. Here’s a quote: “Glee is millions of dollars of sound and fury aimed squarely at your children.” And the cast members are going to come into your home and frighten your pets, too!
According to the LA Times, Newbusters has previously attacked Glee creator Ryan Murphy, who “tried to normalize teen homosexuality” through the show. Now, the light-hearted singing show about teen and adult angst is being labeled as “part of Hollywood’s leftist propaganda machine.”
