Imagine your mother texting you at school to let you know that you’ll be appearing on Ellen.

That’s exactly what happened yesterday to Greyson Michael Chance - the young boy who has rocked the Internet with his Lady Gaga cover.

After seeing his YouTube video, host Ellen DeGeneres immediately flew out the 12-year-old - apparently he’s not 13 - to not only perform “Paparazzi” on national TV, but to speak on the phone with “Miss Gaga” herself.

I can only imagine how low his classmates’ jaws will drop now.

The evening’s line-up offered Season 5 contender Chris Daughtry, rocker Bon Jovi and Season 3 winner Fantasia…not to mention, the shattered dreams of one Idol hopeful.

began the night with “Bittersweet.” The wardrobe was horrible, but the performance was pretty good. The VH1 diva still has a strong set of pipes. Fantasia’s new album - the first in three years - will be out this summer. She says the album will offer a lot of “soul” tunes, which should delight Fantasia fans.

What is it about Mother’s Day that brings out the best in Saturday Night Live? (Remember Justin Timberlake’s “Motherlover” from just last year?)

Last night’s long-awaited broadcast with was arguably the best night the show had had in quite some time. (Of course, appearances from old SNL faves - Rachel Drath, Amy Poehler, Ana Gasteyer, Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph and Molly Shannon - were also responsible for a good number of the laughs.)

  • Unwrapped (Food, 8:30pm):  “Included: a huge jawbreaker that takes three weeks to make.” And only two seconds for your child’s dentist to cash in.
  • 24 (FOX, 9pm):  “Jack Bauer goes rogue to discover who’s behind the day’s despicable events.” A strategy that could have come in handy…even a few hours ago.

“I know that I had a lot of people wanting me to change it up a lot. But if I changed it up a lot, it would mean changing me.” , 17, faced the press bravely on the heels of his elimination from American Idol 9. During his time on the show, Kelly was known for crooning sweetly and perfectly on-point, displaying what would be dazzling vocals for anyone at any age.

But he also remained wooden on stage and only once deviated from his formula of singing softly and sincerely to the crowd, picking up the pace and making an attempt to move around on the stage for only one of the numbers he performed. Aaron Kelly explained that he thinks of himself “as a country artist,” so his song selection was all about “songs that I could make sound a little country.” If only he’d thrown in a little rock n roll, he might have made it to the Top 4.

After years of advising people how to make changes in their life, publicly made a change of his own. On Friday’s episode of Oprah, the TV host did something he hadn’t done in approximately four decades- kiss a woman without a mustache on.

“For the first time in over 40 years - and I have two kids and they’ve never seen me without a mustache - I am going to take off my mustache,” he announced to the audience at Radio City Music Hall.

According to the songstress, “FOX POORLY + AMATEURLY edited+cut my performance/musical arrangement on Idol.” And thank goodness. The interminable number lasted for a horrifying 5 minutes on Wednesday’s Top 5 results show - the actual performance was 6.5 minutes long!

Pay careful attention to the last ten seconds of this video. If you look at the dimmed, lower portion of the image, you’ll notice a small, silent joke bomb placed by Team to insult Conan O’Brien. The subject matter? Terrorism. The vehicle? Facebook. The result? That remains to be seen.

While doing a bit about would-be Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad, the Tonight Show host presented a Facebook page purportedly owned by Shahzad. On it, you can see that Faisal belongs to a few groups: Al Qaeda, the Pakistan Frequent Flyers Club and Team Coco, the moniker used by supporters.
