Let me first say that while it is not a quality show by any means, Hey Paula has given me exactly what I was hoping for: a train wreck that I can count on.
And while I curse Paula Abdul weekly for being ditzy, overly emotional and sometimes rude (especially to her assistants)...I applaud her for opening up and showing us her true character. Though I’m sure the actual results are much different from what I’m assuming she intended.

GSN’s Grand Slam will pit these winners together in a battle royale of wits, to see which big winner is the true champion above all others. Hosted by Dennis Miller and Amanda Byram (the Swan), Grand Slam will pit past winners against each other in a head-to-head contest that will determine once and for all which winner boasts the most brain power. Grand Slam contestants will include Jeopardy winners Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter, and Millionaire winners Kenvin Olmstead and John Carpenter, to name a few.

Rumor Confirmed: Richie Isn’t Just Putting on Water Weight

Sources close to Nicole Richie have confirmed that the tabloid rumors and media speculation are true: The Simple Life star will be expecting a child. For weeks, the press has filled the pages of magazines with pictures of an increasingly thickening Richie, questioning the telltale bump that’s formed on her midsection. Pictures of Richie hand-in-hand with rocker boyfriend Joel Madden are everywhere, and though neither star has confirmed (nor outright denied) the existence of a child, everyone is reporting that she’s pregnant. Looks like strollers and late nights are in Nicole’s future, only this time it isn’t all for reality TV.

Clay Aiken Fans Saved Jericho?

Can you believe that Clay Aiken is trying to take credit for the revival of the canceled series Jericho? Apparently, Aiken was a big fan of the show and rallied on his blog for his faithful fans (known as Claymates) to take action. He told The Houston Chronicle, “The show Jericho... I loved it. I started blogging about it on my fan site. It got canceled, and I blogged about how upset I was. I said, ‘The Claymates can do anything. How do we get this show back on the air?’” Was Aiken’s message to his fans the impetus that got the whole peanut craze started? If you recall, once the show was canceled, lots o’ peanuts made their way to the CBS offices in reference to a line from the show. Lo and behold, the net announced that Jericho would be coming back to the air waves. The power of nuts. And Claymates, it seems. Aiken said, “Honestly, within a week [the Claymates] had organized a campaign amongst Jericho fans to send nuts to CBS. It kind of started in that place. And it’s back on the air! It just blows my mind.” Hmmm. Is Clay Aiken taking too much credit for the show’s return? Does he have that crazy a fanbase that they will just do whatever he commands? I’m not so sure I’m a believer.

‘The Apprentice’ Rises From The Ashes

Just when I thought we had finally put The Donald to rest, he reemerges to exploit himself once more. Despite a drop in ratings over the past few years, Reuters is reporting that The Apprentice will live to see a seventh—and possibly an eighth—season on NBC. Given the network’s poor performance in the ratings last year, I have no idea why they would continue to beat a dead horse. An official announcement is expected later this month.
Now if NBC can manage to hold on long enough, Baron Trump may one day be old enough to take a seat in the boardroom…

Twins Can’t Tie Diddy Down

Kim Porter, the longtime girlfriend of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, is reportedly moving out of his home despite having given birth 7-months ago. The couple had been together for approximately 10 years… that’s if you count the time they were actually apart (a.k.a The Time Puffy Was Dating J.Lo). When that high-profile relationship ended, Combs went right back to the woman who had already mothered his son, Christian.
After Kim delivered twin daughters D’Lila and Jessie last December, I sincerely hoped that Sean would stick by her side and marry her (not that anyone has to get married or anything). But now rumor has it that an actress famous for her own love problems may have something to do with this latest breakup.
Page Six is reporting that Combs spent many late-nights partying with Sienna Miller instead of rocking his girls to sleep shortly after they were born. Additionally, they recently were seen spending time together after the concert for Princess Diana. Apparently being cheated on by Jude Law doesn’t pre-empt you from doing the cheating…
Those wondering, like me, why people find him so appealing can try watching the current season of Making the Band 4 (MTV) to figure it out.

Now that we’ve said goodbye to June and its 30 days of weddings, trips to the beach, and the slow, crippling realization that it’s still a long, long time until Lost comes back, why don’t we take a few minutes and look back at the best and worst of June reality TV? Nope, that was a rhetorical question. Yes, I know, there are lots of reasons not to look back, and yet I’m going to do it anyway.
Oh, and it doesn’t really fit here because it’s not a reality show, but Flight of the Conchords on HBO is pretty hilarious. I don’t really have enough to say about it to write a full column, obviously, but it’s definitely worth checking out. Okay, here we go…

Pictures of an emaciated-looking Nicole have appeared in every major supermarket, along with bold headlines that pondered the possibility of an eating disorder. No matter what happens in her personal life (like using her winning ways to tempt Joel Madden away from former famous tween queen Hilary Duff), the headlines always go back to one thing: Richie’s waistline. Now, a slight bulge on her midsection has everyone talking again. Could it be that Nicole Richie, famous socialite and reality TV star, is pregnant? Sure, if anyone would make a great mother, wouldn’t it be her?

MADD Not Quite Ready to Work with Paris

Paris Hilton may have spoken out of turn when she talked about her desires to work with Mothers Against Drunk Driving during a Larry King interview on CNN last week. The organization that united against alcohol abuse may not want Miss Hilton on their team. MADD spokeswoman Misty Moyse said the non-profit group still has doubts about Paris’s behavior, and further said no one involved with Hilton has made any attempt to contact MADD about her desired involvement. MADD was founded in 1980 by the mother of a 13-year-old killed by a repeat-offender drunk driver, and had worked with a bevy of celebs in the past.

Paris Hilton has told all and sundry that she’s going to improve her life and do great things for the world…but not before she gets some vacay time. The heiress landed in Maui yesterday afternoon, wearing a terribly ill-fitting black wig and designer sunglasses as a “disguise” that really didn’t work at all. Following her well-watched interview with Larry King, the interviewer told E’s Ryan Seacrest that Paris’s answers were too short, and Paris’s answer to his Bible question made him doubt Miss Hilton has read the tome at all, though she says it was one of her favorite jail pass-times. King also said he doesn’t believe Paris never experimented with drugs. More than three million tuned in to see Paris on Larry King’s show, big ratings for CNN. Missed it the first time? CNN will re-broadcast the Hilton interview today.
