When you think about it, shouldn’t work. It’s a comedic musical television series (what?) featuring a bunch of

relatively

previously unknown actors and actresses from far-flung places like Broadway. With all the song numbers, dance numbers and witty one-liners, fans get a lot of laughs - but the show also, at times, gives views tears. So what makes this series so special?

, who plays inspirational glee club coach Will Schuester, expressed it beautifully in a recent interview. When asked about the series and its phenomenal appeal, Morrison said “music is the language that everyone speaks.”

Even so, a show needs more than a great soundtrack. Morrison gave credit to , who plays tough-as-nails cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester. The actor said that Lynch is very unlike her shrewish character, who is often the source of the biggest laughs on the show.

The Glee cast is currently in London to do promotions for the show. Cory Monteith, who plays Finn Hudson, recently of himself with none other than Prince Harry on Twitter. When the English press asked Monteith about upcoming episodes of the show, he enthused about musical stars who might get involved with the series. He said of Coldplay, who initially balked at having their songs featured on the show, “we think they’ve changed their mind.” Monteith also said that Snoop Dogg “is going to do Glee,” which sounds like the most awesome episode ever.

Oscar-winning Spanish actor Javier Bardem is also in season 2.
